Another peice written for English, about a week after the other one. This one we were given a few scenarios to use, one was to have a story from a few points of view. This one follows the daughters, then the mothers, and then a mans.
It was her 16th birthday, and her day started with her mum waking her up with breakfast in bed. The usual birthday crap. Sora had never been a fan of birthdays, but it was her 16th so it was destined to be good. “Wake up Sora” her mother said gently as she woke her up. “Happy birthday sweetie.” She said as she kissed her daughter on the forehead. “Thanks mum”, Sora said as she began to sit up in bed. “Enjoy your breakfast, I made it just the way you like”. Sora smiled at her mum and started eating her bacon and eggs.
“Kelly, could you come here a minute please?” Sora’s dad, Tyson, called to Sora’s mum from the other side of the house. “I’ll see you in a few minutes Sora”, she smiled and walked out of Sora’s room and to the lounge where her father was.
Sora turned on her TV and started watching Sunrise. Sora had always been an intellectual who was into the current affairs, stuff most people her age weren’t interested in. Plus, she wanted to know what was going on in the rest of the world on such a great day for her. Some of the headlines were the normal things you’d see on the news, car crashes, something big in media (today it was Angelina Jolie’s wedding day), but something which caught her attention was that they had a huge story on the town she lived in, Elizabeth, where someone from her school had been shot dead. She was stunned, and just laid in bed for a few minutes before getting out of bed.
After Sora got dressed she stayed in her room for awhile and read and listened to music. Later in the morning she went to the kitchen to get a cup of orange juice. Today was March 13th, a nice and sunny Saturday, the sun shone through the blinds in the kitchen. The room was warm already. She decided to go back to her room and get changed into her clothes she was wearing out. She was going to go out with her parents for lunch at a restaurant in the city. She decided on a nice black dress.
She came into the lounge and her parents smiled at her, and commented on her looking beautiful, and that they couldn’t believe how fast she had grown up. They headed out to the car, which reflected the sun off its blue exterior. They got in the car and drove down the road, to a main intersection. Kelly’s mobile phone rang, and she turned to Tyson and said something quietly which Sora couldn’t hear, and Tyson faced Kelly for a minute, taking his eyes off the road for a little too long. Their car got hit by a four-wheel drive, running a red light, at the intersection.

Kelly was abruptly awoken from her sleep by her alarm clock. It was 6:30am, and her daughters birthday. She had to prepare breakfast for Sora. Kelly got her dressing gown and walked out into the kitchen and began cooking her daughter bacon and eggs. Kelly made sure to make the eggs soft, Sora loved them that way. After they had cooked she headed into her daughters room and woke her up, and wished her a happy birthday. “Kelly, could you come here a minute please?” Tyson called out and Kelly said to Sora that she would see her in a few minutes and went to talk to her husband.
“What is it Tyson?”, Kelly asked him as she came into the lounge. “There’s something on the news after the ads about a person from Elizabeth being shot dead”, Tyson said as he looked at Kelly. Kelly sat down without saying anything and waited for the story to come on.
“Early this morning a young lady from Elizabeth was shot dead after exiting a nightclub in Adelaide”, the reporter continued “she was emitted to hospital and just a few hours ago, she was pronounced dead.” Tyson turned to his wife “That’s sad news for her parents. Now this is why I’m so protective of Sora, Kelly” Kelly just nodded but didn’t say anything. Kelly has always taken things badly, especially when they barely concern her. She’s just a caring person, as people always say. They decided to put on a movie and watch that while their daughter got ready.
About 10minutes after the movie, Sora came out, dressed in a nice black dress that Kelly had bought for her late last year. “You look beautiful, Sora” Kelly started to say as she had tears dwelling in her eyes. “I can’t believe my little baby girl has grown up so fast.” Kelly got out of her seat and hugged her daughter. “Mum, I’ll always be your baby girl”, Sora said quietly and smiled.
In the car on the way to the restaurant, Kelly got a call on her mobile phone and answered it.
”Hey Kelly”
”Oh hey Rosie, what can I do for ya?”
”Well, this morning Laura was pronounced dead by the coroners.” She said as she broke down crying.
The phone cut out and Kelly turned to her husband and whispered that Rosie had called and said that Laura was the girl mentioned on the news. Tyson just turned and stared at Kelly. Then Kelly saw outside Tyson’s window a four-wheel drive ploughing into their car. Kelly then blacked out.

The phone rang.
Dave got out of his bed, cranky like most mornings, and answered the phone. It was his boss, he needed him to fill in a shift for one of the other works who called a sickie today. Dave got off the phone, angrier then he was just before. He went and had a shower. Afterwards he got dressed and had breakfast. Toast. Dave ate the two pieces of toast in a few minutes, and then got his car out of the garage.
One thing Dave had always been proud of was his car. His house was a ****-hole, and so was his life. He had been having troubles with his girlfriend of a few months. He got on the main road and headed towards work.
On the way his phone rang, and instead of leaving it, he checked who it was, and the caller ID was Christine, his girlfriend. He answered, and she started saying that she found someone better, it was his brother Steven. He got ****ed off and threw the phone to the floor. It rang again, so he lent down to reach it, he had to fumble around for a bit to get it.
As he got it, he sat back up, and before he could brake or swerve, he hit a shiny blue sedan.
