I think we should get rid. Why have it if we're never going to become official? If somebody was abusing it as in swearing at people all the time they should be banned i agree but like if we're trying to get our point across swearing should be allowed.

Due to there being different age ranges of people that use the forum, some words / phrases are deemed unacceptable, therefore the filter is in place.

But you gotta be sensible people are going to hear it in real life its inevitible. The youngest members like 12 ? = in high school = will hear it. Your just hiding them from the truth "/

I'm 12 and I probably know every word in the filter, and what it means and so I assume so do the rest of us. Most people do these days!

I have not hiding from the truth, if you look at most forums they have filters on them, it will not be taken away.

Yea its life. You will hear it like it or not.
And baving give me an example that isn't an official habbo fansite? / trying to get on it

Baving1

Why do I need to give examples it is the just normal common sense to have a filter. There is no point in arguing over it, it will not be removed.

ilovejordan

thats stupid "/ It isn't normal common sense to have a filter if we aren't on the official list nor ever going to be

You will probably find that some people don't like swearing and therefore the forum has to cater for them, therefore the filter is in place.

I'd say the majority dont care. And why is the word sh'ift filtered?

the thing is majority of people do use swear words and like them, therefore if you think about it people can express their views which will bring in more hits and visitors to the site and also move V.I.P being bought. (:

You should be aloud to swear past 11:00pm :)

Who would listen to that rule? I think some words in the filter could be removed, but not thewhole filter.

I do believe the filter should stay in place for obvious reasons.

However "cool" you think swearing/abusive language is the filter is here to protect younger users.

ilovejordan

younger users? the youngest are like 12 not 4

Exactly, and swearing at 12 is not going to do you any favours in later life is it? Think about other people, not your own freedom and leisure.

I am. going on habbo a 12 year old would see swearing. In real life a 12 year old would see swearing. Going to school a 12 year old would see swearing. My 9 year old sister knows all the swear words "/

Well they can't stop that can they?

Some immature people on Habbo tend to avoid the filter and swear. Most people in real life swear, duh.

We don't want that to happen but we can't stop it; we can stop it on HabboxForum with the filter.

The more they see swear/abusive words the more they will associate them to common life.

For gods sake I never said they wouldn't know them... read what I'm writing.

I'm saying the more they see it used the more they will associate it to usual everyday life.

If that is too complicated for you, the more they see it the more they will use it.

If we don't have it here on HabboxForum, then it is less, and it makes a difference.

The filter is not here because we hope to become official, but because we want a nice forum where people respect each other and everybody can enjoy spending time.
I don't think not being able to swear spoils it, it should be possible to get your point accross without using any swear words.

To be honest, if the filter were taken down, every post would become a flame. It would be like HabboeXpose; with everyone going:

Lk @ ths cheesing* muffin*, thnk's hes te candyfloss*! I reckonz we shud hug* hs yogurting* sausage*.

*Replace with words of your choice.

Seriously though, there's no point. Even if SOME kids may know them, does that mean we want to expose everyone to that kind of language?

SOME kids do drugs. Does that mean we should give them to everyone, just because they'll probably be exposed to them in the future? Sure, they may say no and not do it, but there's a huge possibility that because they can, they will.

if people swear in life then its their choice, but its only a forum :\ its not REAL LIFE.

So we should be able to swear if we want.
