I find them both funny, I think at times they both have their incredibly funny moments. I really dont prefer one over the other.

I watch both but you can't really compare it.
Family guy is an Adult Swim, Whereas simpsons isn't.
I don't watch family guy anyway xD

I prefer South Park over them both, but no cartoon ever could beat the Simpsons in the beginning, it was the best. At the moment out of Family Guy and the Simpsons I prefer Family Guy, but I don't think any cartoon can beat the Simpsons legacy.

The Simpsons just isn't funny anymore. Classic Simpsons episodes piss on Family Guy in my opinion, I can still watch the programe though.

Yes Futurama, that show was really funny, stuck to the plot, and was short unlike other shows which jumped the shark.

IN EVERY EPISODE! IT GETS PLAYED OUT!
That's the whole point of flashbacks, random and funny. If you took out all the flashbacks in Family Guy their wouldn't be as many jokes.
Most of the time though, the flash-backs have something to do with the episode.
As you can probably tell by my Avatar, FAMILY GUY IS THE BEST!

That's the whole point of flashbacks, random and funny. If you took out all the flashbacks in Family Guy their wouldn't be as many jokes.
Most of the time though, the flash-backs have something to do with the episode.

It seems Family Guy has gotten really popular over the past year or so...Even though it started airing YEARS ago...Like when I was 12...So 7 years ago...
Don't get me wrong, it's a great show, but why now? Why not back then?
As for which is better...Nothing can compare to the simpsons, but Family Guy certainly has it's moments.
I love King Of The Hill, too, people don't seem to take notice of that, but I personally think it easily matches Family Guy

That isn't jumping on the bandwagon. Their must be many things you watch/do now because you're mates told you.
Say, you're friends told you to watch it, you watch it and tell others, because you like it. What if you did like it alot but you weren't allowed to watch it because people think you're 'jumping on the bandwagon'. No, it doesn't happen. Why should you not be allowed to watch it if someone told you because you think it's jumping on the bandwagon.
You ARE allowed to watch it if someone tells you, it isn't jumping on the bandwagon, you just like watching it. Put it this way, if the first person who watched Family Guydidn't tell everyone, their wouldn't be as many fans today.

Agree. Some old simpsons episodes can never be beaten by family guy.
And South Park is right about family guy: Too many flash backs. Theres only about 10 minutes of an actual episode, the rest is random poop that is only funny about half the time.

Family Guy is much better in my opinion. The Simpsons isn't funny anymore. After so many episodes they're struggling to find new ideas for the show.
Family Guy also has a humour aspect aimed at an older audience.
