errr thats since 99 and they started relesing cds in 99 too :p they were also first called hybrid theory which they changed to linkin park and hybrd theory was there first major album. there awful now tho jayz :eusa_snoo

Actually, they were called Xero first, they then changed to Hybrid Theory when Chester joined the band due to legal reasons.

To settle this debate between ancrum and the other dude. Linkin park (not by that name) realsed music when they were 15, not CD's however, ancrum is right, they grew over the net. As for the name thing, yea Xero was their first name but it changed to hybrid theory because of their morals...then changed again because of a band called hybrid threatoning to sue. The mr Bennington was driving past lincoln park in cali and then told the rest of the band who liked it. The letters were then re-arranged to get a web adress (www.linkinpark.com) and now we are left with musical geniouses.
