It's you who have to stop. You have will power, use it. Just don't smoke. Like me for instance, i used to suck my thumb till i was like 13, now im 15, i forced my self to stop sucking my thumb because my dad said he'd buy me membership for a game for life if I did, lmao. That just tempted me to stop. Your problem is exactly the same as mine, use your will and just stop. Theres another way you can stop, use Nicotine patches. :) Hope that helped.

yeah, u say "just stop" but its not that easy. ive tried to stop so many times + its really difficult. sucking your thumb isnt the same thing.

sucking your thumb is a habbit, smoking is an addiction.

i have quit smoking for a week tho. but the only way i did that was to stop hangin round with all my mates that smoke + make sure i never bought any **** by giving my mum all my money.

the only advice i can give is to quit properly str8 away. decide you have quit and do it. dont cut down first coz u will never quit like that. just completely stop.

hmmm you could always try quitting with a friend, so you have support etc. but if your doing that, if they start again, it may temp you to start.

when you decide you've quit, dont think to yaself "oh, ill have one more, then ill quit" coz that never works.

anyway, hope this helps, sorry its not much.

It really isn't that hard to stop if you put your mind to it, i stopped once for about 3 weeks but then started again at my own will.
It did make me get chewing gum more whan i gave up which was quite a good thing, so now i am also hooked to Wrigleys Extra Spearmint. :P

Just put your mind to it

What that other guy said, stop hanging out with people who are constantly smoking, being around it wont help anything. Id say try to avoid any kind of smoking environment.

Your local pharmacy can help you give up smoking. (Read it on a cigarette packet, lmao.)

My friend had around 200 packs (20 packs) which is around 400 ****.

As I smoke myself I helped myself to 100 ****. I offerd to sell 200 of them to my friends who smoke and random people just to show how much money he'll be making and the left over 100? Well, we had a camp fire in the woods, we threw all the **** in the fire and that stopped him forever.

I dunno why it's pretty dumb thing todo, set em all on fire but it worked.

Lol didn't the fire give off nicotine smell?
I can't see how burning 100 on a fire would make you stop :S If anything it would make me want one

It's good you have realised you have a problem, and by deciding you want to stop you've taken the first step.

As already been said, you need to completely remove yourself from any smoking environments and just try and forget about smoking completely. A few of my friends who smoke basically do it because their 'bored', and don't really have anything to do, and I bet when you smoke most it's either out with friends or when your sitting doing nothing. Therefore plan your days ahead, and don't allow yourself any time to have a cigarette.

Aswell as this, you could just remove any access to cigarettes, by getting rid of any you perhaps have left over, or if your parents smoke ask them to keep it out of the way of you.

Good luck!

Being a smoker myself thats attempted quitting many times, I can help. But I cant give advice, my methods might not work for you, so I am going to put what I have tried.

- Tried my best to stay away from people who smoke.
- I stopped all together instead of gradually.
- Spent my money on other things as soon as I got it, or put it in a bank. If you have money doing nothing in your pocket it is extremelly tempting to buy cigarettes.
- Had a motivation.
- Dont listen to people trying to help you stop that have never even been a smoker.

I quit for 6 months last summer. I couldnt keep it up though, my grandma was rushed into hospital with liver failure, and I had the biggest argument of my life with my dad both on the same day, and I couldnt give a 'poop' about anything and just got a cigarette of one of my friends.

Good luck quitting, just hope nothing like what happened to me happens to you.

The best advice i could think of is download that TV Advert where all the people are smoking and the **** turn into that sludgy grey stuff (that apparently is in your viens/vessels if you smoke) and keep watching it untill u feel you can stop lol.

The fact that nicotine is addictive and that is what causes the addiction - now you see :eusa_eh:
