Why not have a "Straight Discussion" forum?
Since there is a "Gay/Lesbian" discussion forum, why not have one for straights? You could argue that "people feel scared and need someone to talk to when they think they're gay". Ok, but this may make straight people feel excluded, and we all know Habbox likes to be PC and keep that community feeling alive ;)

I brought up this before =/
It's damn unfair. Yeah their a minority but there's alot of Gays on this forum so we should have the same right "/
Straights don't flaunt their sexuality, but the majoraty of gays seem they have to.
Thats why they have their own forum.

The Gay/Lesbian forum wasn't made so people could go and brag about their sexuality.
Straight people are not minorities so why should they get their own forum? The Gay/Lesbian forum is mainly used for getting advice, and a majority of the people on this forum are teenagers, so those who are questioning their sexuality or need help on how to come out or whatever have a place to ask.
Quit being selfish. If you want a straight forum then get VIP and get your own subforum.

We first had a Gay forum and no Relationships forum. We then added a Relationships forum so that Straight people also had somewhere to discuss relationships.
That should be fine really :).

I was joking, actually, but whatever. The whole "straights are not a minority" part actually *** me off. Straights aren't a minority, true, so now majoritys are being discriminated against?

How are straight people being discriminated against?
Thats what relationships and Discuss anything is for..

Yeah but there isn't a defined Straight Relationship talk like there is Gay people. And I agree with what someone said about Straight people being discriminated against because we're majorities. =/

How are straight people being discriminated against?I couldn't think of a better word :p Admittedly, it isn't exactly discrimination, but it seems like the only reason there isn't a definded "Straight Talk" forum is because straight people are a majority. Lets make a forum for blacks while we're at it, since they count as a minority, and it would keep the BRAAAT talk to one forum :) (Please, nobody go on a rant about generalisation, and how not all blacks are like that, I know they aren't ;))
Lets be honest, it's not too hard to make a forum, and it just separates the gay talk from the straight talk, so that people don't have to sieve through topics which aren't to do with their orientation :)
Craig

Yeah I was thinking the same thing about black people, it's like making a black section and not making a white section for this forum.

you have discuss anything, relationships and teen help or w.e for that.

Hetrosexuality is accepted in ALL religions in EVERY country, hetrosexuals don't get 'picked' on during life. Homosexuals have to grow up knowing that one day they will have to tell their parents and friends not known how they'd react, we will be harrassment by idiots, like yourself all of our lives, 'Straight' people wont. so grow up, the is been brought up many times before, and youhavnt got a straight forum yet, and wont.

wth dude
i am bisexual and i having a forum for "straight" people wont effect me being called:s
i think there should be a sexuality forum for people to talk about it as you are kinda isolating 'staight' people and it doesnt rwally matter if you like boys or girls ffs

Grow up? I'm more mature than you'll ever be. So if you want this equality and stuff your basically contradicting it by saying no to a Straight Chat "/ If we had a Straight Chat and there wasn't a gay one you'd moan so don't give me that.
I mean that hetro's don't need to go through life being bullied, and as there is a relationship section all the threads post there will be 'OMG AINT SHE HOT!?' which can be posted in the discuss anything/spam forums :)

No that statement is false. Hetros dont need to go through life being bullied if their asian, black or a different race then yes they could. Doesn't mean we need a Asian/Black forum though "/ And your stuff can be posted in the spam/anything forums =/ You want equality and so do we cos we're not getting missed out cos we're not a minority =/

Craig is right
just cause there are gay or bi or whatever doesnt mean that you cant post anywhere but that forum, i think it would be better to have a sexuality forum tho where everyone can share there opinions and things

The easiest way to resolve this would be to change the forum name to Sexuality. A new forum would not be created for straight people because it's not neccesary.

Crono
13-06-2006, 07:24 PM
Either way, having a forum specifically for "gay discussion" keeps things organized.
The gay/lesbian forum isn't just for talking about gay and lesbian relationships. It's also used for asking for/giving advice or just discussing things that have to do with homosexuality. You don't see any threads asking how to come out to your friends and family about being straight. If you want to discuss straight relationships do it in the RELATIONSHIPS forum, that's what it was made for. The gay/lesbian forum wasn't made to make gay people seem more important than straight people. If you were gay you'd want a forum to be able to discuss it.

Well these stickies could be put in a relationship forum for straight/gay people meaning just having the relationships forum;
Compliments for your partner
Things to do with your partner[eg take her out for a meal etc]
Straight forum;
What do I do to get a girlfriend/boyfriend [from a straight person]
What annoys your gf/bf [from a straight person]
Learning about heterosexual sex.
What contraceptives are there?
Me and my girlfriend want a baby-Are we rushing into things?
And at the end of the day Homosexuals moan about equality but when it's for heterosexuals it's a 'different kettle of fish'.
Smiddy

Personally I think they all come under "Relationships"
Technically we don't need any other forums than the "Discuss anything" and possibly "Spam", since they cover all topics really when you think about it!

I can see where you're coming from. Putting both straight and gay topics into relationships wouldn't make anyone feel discriminated against. But I still don't understand why you're so offended by there not being a straight discussion forum.

Cos Gays always campaign for equality yet when we don't get something it's fine? =/ No it's not, that's basically discriminating against us and saying 'Oh there's a black person minority forum on here why not have a Black person section "/ ' Which is exactly like what Gay people say but revelant to them. Why not have a straight forum? Seeing as the majority people are then there would be alot of topics in there =/ No point for a Relationships forum if you ask me,change that to Straight Chat.

Okay this is the solution:
The easiest way to resolve this would be to change the forum name to Sexuality. A new forum would not be created for straight people because it's not neccesary.
It will be looked into over the next couple of days, (or a week due to other major changes)
Heterosexuals, bisexuals, homosexuals your all the same at the end of the day. Your all people so no one is getting descriminated on the forum.
