You clearly dont like her that much, cause if you did like her asking her out would be a breeze. Take the risk, the worse thing that can happen is that she says no and you stop wondering if you got a shot or not?

Or she says no and you get attacked by pirates, that would be alot worse...

Well you like this girl don't you, not her friends.

A lot of people when growing up are pressured into doing things, but she should eventually grow out of it and stand on her own two feet. I say, give it a shot and inform her of your feelings, and maybe that itself could change her. Tell her though how you do love her personality etc. but you think they girls perhaps corrupt her a little, but you should still like her for what she is!
