Yer, depends how long you swim for. If you go like, once a week for 200m or whatever you won't lose much. If you go more than once a week, and work until you're tired, you will be certain to lose weight.

I suggest going around 3 times a week and swimming for like an hour, or maybe doing around 2000m, or maybe like 20 times back and forth the length of your local swimming pool.
Either way, you want to be going something like every other day and swimming for long periods of time/a lot of metres.

Hmm, I suggest going a few more times a week and maybe swimming a little bit more each time.
That way, you will be losing quite a bit of weight, providing you are eating a healthy diet too.

Hmm, ok.
Well once your exams are over, go a bit more.
If you are eating healthily as well you will be shedding teh pounds.

Well if you can only do it for one day, try doing it in the morning til your tired, have a few hours rest, then again in the afternoon.

I don't think swimming is the best way to lose weight. Swimming actually can help build upper body (arms, chest area) and lower body (legs) strength - thus more muscle, which weights more tha fat ;).
Your best bet is to see a dietician about losing weight, and whether you actually need to lose weight. You're more likely to see better results through eating a good, well balanced, diet. Since you're still young it probably isn't best to worry about your weight yet as it's likely to change over the next few years.
get a trampoline - seriously. jumping on a trampoline for 10 mins is like running a mile :)
