well let me rephrase the question;
Is saying emphasing the word gay in an insult homophobic?

paradox

It shouldn't really seemt hat way because it isn't intended like that
For example if I said 'this lesson is gay' basically this lesson sucks. I don't know how the slang word of gay originated tho :p

If he homo-sexual perso find's it "Offensive" they'll call you homophobic, whether calling them gay or not. I've seen it before.

Well. Like a few people have said, I think it can be in certain circumstances.

For instance, if you refer to 'something' being gay, like.. a lesson, or a book or something, lol, then I don't really think so, but if you use it in an argument or specifically to insult someone, then yes!

It all depends on how you're using it.

I don't think its homophobic. I think in primary school when everyone was constantly like 'stop being so gay' it was meant in a homophobic way, but now it just means stop being so stupid/sad or whatever.

Same. Most people dont really mean it in a homophobic way as such these days so it dosent bother me.

Hmm I dunno really , I suppose it can be seen as homophobic like if you go ''This lessons gay'' by meaning the lessons stupid/sucks some people might see it as calling gays stupid but if I say something like that I don't mean it homophobic , you would have to do a survey from homosexuals.
