I got my Science results back today, I got a level 6a with a score of 94 :] I was well chuffed, Science is by far my worst out of Maths and English. Maths we get tomorrow and English we get in year 10. For English they don't come back until during summer holidays as they have to take longer to mark them.

I just got my maths today lol, I need a level 5C, To do the intimidate course at GCSE, to get into college, and I got a 5A, I got the highest in my Set, I was well chuffed and abit bummed out, Because, I was 2marks away from a 6C, And am waiting to find out my English and Science, which I need a Level 5 in, If I get all level 5's I get £150 and, if one 6, £200, and I was 2marks away from a level 6, so am going to say if I can have it, because am 2marks away to my partents.;

Ive only got my science back and I got a level 7 , I was well surprised :] maths I get back this week or next though and english in september , I don't know what I got so far though like marks in science , I will have to see my papers on monday and Ben you were only 11 marks off a level 7.

we found out our maths results on thursday of last week. i was so shocked that i got a level 8 i gave a sort of strangled cry and nearly fell off my chair. my friend cried she was so happy lol. we were given plenty of odd looks. and we also found out our nasty form tutor is leaving at the end of this year in that lesson as well so i was hyperventilatiing with happiness for an hour lmao.

i actually dont remember anything about the welsh population lol. i had a fever the day i took the test and so i was kind of delirious.

Woah, when did they introduce a, b and c's? And since when did they give you your mark?

I sat mine in 2004, and I got:

English - 7
Science - 7
Maths - 8

Oh well, once you get onto GCSE and A-Level you realise just how utterly pointless it is to worry over SATs.

We got told you are not awarded 6A/B/Cs, for example in SAT exams.

You aren't halting.
But people get told how many marks you got and how many you needed to get a certain level.
So say you were told you got 87 marks in science and is level 6 and marks needed to get level 6 was 70 and 7 was 100 people would just base it on a b kinda thing. Just so that they kinda knew where they were and how close they were to another level.

I got 6 Science (was gunning for a 7 but nvm)
A surprise (sp?) level 7 in maths.

Also in maths we done an old GCSE paper to like you know get a feel for it kinda thing. I got 1 mark off a C. Apparently over year 10 and 11 your grades go up 2 and you are predicted two higher for an average person. Some 3 higher. Im hoping ill go 3 better cause then bring on the A*. :P

I have only done the y8 papers, which the goverement is introducing as optional for the school to use.

And i got 7a in maths, and the paper was only a 5-7 :D

But they didn't tell us are english and the goverment don't make science ones for y8

Basically, some schools give you a letter after the level. All schools recieve the letter from the examiners just don't tell you :P

Anyway here goes, the levels are worked out like this.

7a
7b
7c
6a
6b
6c
5a
5b
5c
4a
4b
4c

A is top of the level, B the middle of the level, and C the bottom of the level.

So if you get a 6a you know are nearly at a 7c, and if you get a 6c you need to be careful not to go down to 5a.

I got 135/150 level 8 on my maths, which I was quite pleased wiyth as it was the highest in the class

and 129/140 level 7 on my science, which was 2nd highest, the highest mark was 130. What are the a's, b's, c's all about?

Well, at my skl we do Key Stage 3 SATS a year early, so Year 9 is like a fun year before our GCSE's (we also do a short course GCSE in ICT in yr 9 but other than that).
In Science i got a level 7, not sure how many marks coz the teacher just told us our levels, someone in my year got full marks though (cough, boff), but science ain't really my thing if you know what i mean, i hate it.
In Maths, as we took ks3 a year early, we did the 5-7 tier. So therefore it was only possible to get a level 7, i got 142 out of 151, i woz well gutted though coz the 9 marks i lost were all silly mistakes, and looking back thru it i knew the answers.
And for English, we get them back in September, i'm hoping to get level 7 or EXP. Recently in my classwork in English i've been getting level 8's and EXP so i'm hoping for a good result.

But it dnt really matter, SATs r pointless, all they count for is how good your skl is.
