Great machine, but not worth the $600 in my book. The launch games are not impressive and I'm planning on buying it when I see content worth shelling out money for.

It can be 100 times better really, but the content I, I find, is very mediocre. And there is very little graphical difference between the 360 and PS3. It's really hard to tell them apart.

The Xbox 360 is a video game console. It's not a PC. The PS3 is more of a PC than the 360 will ever be - it runs Linux, is likely to have a web browser and is even being touted by Ken Kutarugi as "a computer".
How can you say the PS3 is the superior console when it hasn't been released?
The Playstation hasn't always been number one. Nintendo ruled the roost before Sony came into play. The Playstation was intended to be a joint venture between Nintendo and Sony to begin with. Nintendo can still hold it's own against Sony, and the fact that the PSP is being outsold by the DS is proof of that.
Your comparisons between the PS2, 360 and PS3 are totally stupid and unfounded. Technically, there's practically no difference in performance between the 360 and PS3. The PS3 is slightly more powerful, but only in the same way the Xbox was slightly more powerful than the PS2.
The price might not be a huge deal for you, but it is for a great number of people. Bear in mind that there a lots of people that can't afford to shell out £500 to buy a new system with few games.
The price of the PS3 is £425 in the UK. This is £145 more than the Xbox 360 Premium and £215 more than the Xbox 360 Core.

Frankly i think halo 3 will be ok but its nothing special halo 1 was good halo 2 was ok. I think halo 3 will be ok i dont think it will be anything special.

Personally i think wiis the way forward no it doesnt have fancy graphics or anything but its got the best technology with that controler i mean come on go on gamespot and watch the red steel video and tell me honestly you dont wanna play that.

I think that's wrong really. The original Halo made the Xbox brand what it is today. If Halo hadn't accompanied the Xbox launch, I think the whole console would have flopped long before the end of this generation.

I think if Halo 3 had come out on the same day as the PS3, it would have trounced the launch of the rival console completely. It's a shame that it's not out until 2007, but hey, I'd rather have a polished game than a rushed game.

The Playsation 2's popularity is mostly due to the popularity of the Grand Theft Auto series, which sold millions of consoles just for that game, so yeah, some games actually make a console what it is today.

Not true. The Gta 1, 2 and London didn't make what the PS1 was, as they were quite frankly pathectic. Also, Playstation AND Xbox both hosted GTA 3, Vice City and San Andreas, and PS2 has done amazingly well too.

I'll be reserving a PS3, I still think it's the best of the three new consoles... Not like I can really judge two of the three yet though... All I know is I won't be buying a 360...

Perfect Dark on the N64 was also an amazing game. Nothing of note on the Gamecube though. I think developers will utilise the Wii though; Call of Duty 3 is already being made for the console as a potential launch title.

I agree :P It looks like Sony is going to be copying the Xbox's functionality though. They've already announced their online system, and there are even rumours of the Xbox's achievements making appearances under the name "Entitlements".
