I say Elvis Presley. Everyone knows him, from old people to younger people. I grew up listening to him since my Dad likes him. I still listen to him these days, and have loads of DVDs and videos about him. My music folder has 502 songs of his in it.

Your allowed opinions and what not but why him? Why not some of the Hip Hop 'gods' as such like Snoop,Notorious,Ice T/Cube,Jay Z,Dre,ODB,Tupac. I mean they are the true influences of Hip Hop.

Anyway hmm I would say;
Elvis Presley - As they say he's the King of rock and roll.
Hendrix - Pretty much everyone knows about him, great guitar skills and great musician.
Queen - Fasinating
Beatles - Whole beatle mania.
I'm trying to think of more but fail to do so ;/ I'll post more when my brain connects.

tbh imo no m8

Elvis Presley, Michael Jackson, Tupac, Spice Girls, Queen and The Beatles are probably the biggest music legends.

Elvis, Freddie Mercury, MJ, Paul McCartney, Buddy Holly, Hendrix..

Not my favourites by far, but definitely among the most influencial. Then again, artists such as Mozart, Bach, Schubert, etc., they're all extremely talented and influencial.

Elvis Presley, Michael Jackson, Bob Marley and James Brown. :)

Elvis: He was know as the "King of Rock and Roll". I don't like him, but who's not heard of him?

Michael: He has amazing songs. We all know he's a bit sick, but you gotta understand deep down he's a decent person.

Bob: Don't really like him, but is very popular in Jamaica. Is probably Jamaicas hero?

James: Spectacular. He's what? 71 or something? He's still looking good, and is still performing :)

Because hes been around for 5 years, and you dont always have to be a legend if your retired..
Hes got the best lyrics, and has won awards for them, so it's not only me who thinks that, hes what makes hip hop today..
All of his songs are brilliant too..
Hows that?

If you go on well known, it would be Elvis, Michael Jackson and Beatles. Not everyone's heard of Jimmy Hendrix or Queen but those three are the main. Maybe Madonna would be 4th

Also 50 cent is growing in being known every where, I mean he's got fan bases in Bahrain! I don't think he's affected hip hop that much, except taken the Mixtape industry to a new level and take money making to a new level. Whereas someone like Dr Dre has made a huge influence on the industry and even society. He really took gangsta rap to the masses, which may have caused all these wannabe gangstas that carry 3 inch blades around with them.

I mean 50 cent does make some poor tracks sometimes, I mean his mixtape stuff in general is pretty poor. I don't like his new singing style, but i like his gangsta rap songs, e.g. Lifes on the line, heat, many men etc...

Not a huge music legend though, like in comparison to some that have been mentioned in this thread.

Meh. He had good ideas but mostly luck was his rise. If Soundgarden came out with their album a few weeks earlier, you might be saying that about Chris Cornell and Nirvana might not have been as famous. I could go on with the things that would happen simply because of timing.

Im a huge Nirvana fan, so Im not biased.

Thats my point. He wasent the most talented person ever, nor did he even consider himself good, but the fans insisted on it which made him uncomfertable. People thought he invented grunge.
