Okay since theres been some threads about situps/Crunches I figured I would try them but I cant seem to be able to use my stomach muscles it seems to be using my neck muscles which really hurts afterwards and I heard its not very good for your neck. Anyone else having these problems or know how to resolve them?

Try this:
Put your legs in an L angle and put them over something. So that your thighs are against the object and your legs are on top of it. I usually use a chair or a couch. Then put your hands behind your head and try that.
Maybe you were doing that before, I have no idea, but that's what I do and it seems to work pretty well. You might want to show someone in rl how you are doing because you may be doing it wrong?

If you don't exercise your stomach muscles often, then you will notice that using your stomach muscles is difficult because you're not used to it. Try some slow sit ups for starters, and try and bend over and touch your toes various times to stretch the stomach muscles for the warm up.

You need to put your hands behind your head, and focus on lifting yourself via your stomach muscles ONLY. A good tip is to look upwards whilst doing so to assure you are doing them properly - hope this helps you.

Exactly what Many said. A lot of people, when performing crunches and sit-ups tend to put tension on their necks instead of completely using their stomach muscles.
