Whats the fastest way to get it up to 60 and how much would it cost? Thanks and +rep if replied with good detail =]

mine coal and iron and make steel, then smith the steel into bodies and sell them

Make 4k cannonballs, sell 200ea, make 200k profit and get smithing levels.

Dont sell them. High Alch them...

Low alch = 800
High alch = 1,200

Do family crest quest and get a goldsmith gauntlets... eg you can also get cooking and magic ones...

Theses provide good smithing exp for smelting gold ores...

Without these the exp per gold ore you get is only 22.5, with it on you get 56.2 exp... this is very good... better than smelting rune which gives 50 exp...

This is popular therefore the prices of ores are like 300 to 500gp ea... and believe it or not its more than gold bars which are 200 to 300gp ea.

Making gold is the 3rd best exp per ore/bar... eg smithing per rune bar gives 75 exp, smithing per addy bar gives 62.5, but smelting gold ore gives 56.2 exp...

I got 83 smithing btw =P
Also you dont need to get coal which is annoying... with gold ores you need none... and it is cheaper to get gold ores than bars eg mith bars 1k ea, addy bars 2k ea...
