Being knocked out

Goin into hospital tomorrow,
first time ever im going to be made unconsious, im pretty worried to say the least! Plz post all previous experiences with being knocked out so itll make me feel better :) ty

Do you mean knocked out before an operation?
I've had it done three times;
Twice when I broke my arm in several places
Once when I broke my leg & it dislocatd my knee cap.

All done when I was playing football ^_^.

I've been put to sleep quite a few times :]
When I broke my arm and it healing in the wrong direction/angle, when I damaged my foot badly , rather not say anymore about that and when I broke my leg and the bone was also healing the wrong direction/angle.

When I broke my arm and leg I was put to sleep with Gas with my foot it was weird because they injected me with this stuff and I was out flat in about five seconds.

I had this done, All they did to me was put a mask on me and i was talkin to my parents and then i just went=], Nothing hurt or anything so it was all fine, But i had my toncels out for this so i dont know if its different.

They normally tell you to count to 10 :] But the point is your flat out before you reach 10 :]

I was going to have to be but I said I'll be really still in the operation and they said I was superb, but then they put me too sleep later and I woke up and everytime i shut my eyes and opened em I would puke because it was an eye operation.

Yeah i have to have my wizdom teeth taken out but it a wierd way coz theyve grown all wrong, so they're cutting open my gums :l
When you wake up wat does it feel like? Is theres loads of pain?

Nope. Each operation I have had, they have given me morphine, which lasts about an hour or two after you wake up.

Good luck dont wory you'll be fine. Ive been 'under the knife' so many times. Not plastic surgery if it sounded like that but operation of broken bones

Trust me, you'll be fine. I've had two operations on my mouth and both of them involved having my gums cut open. Being knocked out just feels like you're going to sleep. They rub this cream on your hands a few hours before which makes your veins raise then later they put in this lil tap thing into your vein on one hand which DOESN'T hurt at all. Then when you're on the bed ready to go in they inject something into it, you can slightly feel it shooting up your arm (it doesn't hurt, just feels cold) n then you just go dizzy n everything goes blank. When you come round you'll have to stay in for a few hours I guess, but all I did was watch TV. You'll only be able to eat soft foods for a couple of weeks after, I practically lived off scrambled egg and chopped up super noodles. It's just a shame it's the summer holidays, because each time I had an operation I got 2 weeks off from school :P

Having an operation isn't that bad..
I didn't mind it anyway ^_^

I had to have two venflons(sp?) though, Because they blew the first one.

Anasthetic when i had a filling in my tooth. Dangerous, somebody had died the week before in the same clinic.

they missed the vein and injected it into my tissue, And it made a massive lump in my hand. A really big one rofl

I didn't realise they had done it until I looked at my hand "/ It didn't hurt or anything.. Just had to have another one:rolleyes:

I got knocked out when I had to have stomach, lung, and esophagus surgery.
I was out during the operation, but for the week after it hurt like hell.
And don't try breathing on your own when you have a machine rbeathing for you, it only makes you choke. ;]

Wakeing up was so fun! lol
Its like the reverse of a night out, you wake up feeling so drunk, then u get less and less drunk over time. Strange feeling :p
My mouth is still numb so im talking like a spak for the moment (no offense to mentaly challenged people)

i been knocked out so they can take out some maybe teeth of mine ¬.¬ it aint bad but wen u wake up u feel sleepy :S and they did it on my birthday aswell :L
