Call me crazy, stupid any name... but I thought the Original Exorcist was funny... It was so stupid, I'm sorry... When she was rolling down the stairs and being mental, may be the storyline but it was horrible, and the Grudge is very scary but it has no storyline... Think about it :l Ive seen saw 1 and it was creepy :o Almost forgot about tht ;)

I thought Freddy Vs Jason was funny [;

Most people think the exorcist is funny these days, mainly because people are more open-minded so it isn't as much as a shock as it was back then. Though I don't really find a girl cutting herself, shoving a crucifix down her ****** then getting her mum to **** it very funny :( The Grudge and Saw are just....poor :$

Ringu and The Last House on the Left. Both were excellent films. I was never actually terrified of a movie though, and I can't believe some people have said The Ring 1 and ESPECIALLY The Ring 2. That's just hilarious!

Err, this film I've forgotten the name of! it was really dodgy, don't think it ever came out at the cinemas. it was weird like, but it wasn't scary just disturbing.. because it was basically killing people.
and at one point they tied this girl up, she was spread out like into a star shape, and they tied her arms and legs to separate horses, and then they hit the horses so they ran off, and tore off her arms and legs. they were loads of other proper disturbing deaths aswell. i must remember the name of it..

cannibal holocaust...... errr it was so disturbing the court ordered to see the cast to make sure they were still alive. It was extremely realistic, sadistic and horrifying in a blaire witch project manner.

Wow, didn't think anyone on here would've ever seen that movie before. Yeah, it's very sick, they actually killed animals to make it. Another one is Africa Addio, true documentary on life in Africa ewth cannabalism

meh not realy, but i have seen ring etc but i dont find em that scary, ive watched to many movies and become completely desensotised to it lol.
The orignal ring was way batter than its crapy american remake, the americans pretty much removed every scary aspect from it, as well as compleaty removing the plot, in place of a couple of CG graphics which were less relasitic than the props in the orgnal films "/
"cannibal holocaust" ive been wanting to see that but never seen it around, i kinda get the feeling its just gona be trying to shock people from the clips as opposed to being scary (aka sexual violence, blood, guts, detailed murdering etc) "/

Cannibal holocaust wasn't very scary, it's just cause it was set out like a documentary so people thought it was real a la blair witch.
^ I suppose. Btw, I thought Holocaust was banned in the UK? I think Canibal Ferox is an 18 there though. Anybody even seen I Spit on Your Grave?

ive never seen the movie so cant say, but thats the vibe i picked of the docu about it, rather than being to scary it sounds more like it was being to realistic for the times.
Trome entertainment push out some pretty sick and scary stuff, but there stuffs more scary in the disturbeing sence than the agghh sence :p
Although there specal effects could never be accused of being to real lol

Not many people have seen Ringu though, I also liked the prequel, the one about how Sadako became evil. The scene in the house at the end where she appears and moves towards them all cracking, that is just freaky. Although I thought the film was sad and it made me feel sorry for her :(
^ Ring 0 I think it was? Yes, it was a compelling piece of work. I had a nightmare of that jagged walk she did in the house, and then you heard the gun-shots and you see them dead. And then you see her get hit with the hatchet at the end and she's dumped into the well and you hear screaming. Ringu 2 wasn't so bad either, the mother actually dies in it, and the way Sadako crawls up the well is freaky as hell.

I loved it, I thought the scenes where evil Sadako appeared and killed people and you only saw stuff like glimpses of her feet then heard the cracking noises as she moved, they were brilliantly set out, but I cried at the end when her boyfriend is on the other side of that glass and they like put their hands up from either side of the glass that was soooo sad and I hated the drama crew people that all surrounded her and started beating her, even though she got them back at the end anyway! I so wanna get the book.
I've read the book, it's extremeley hard to find though. If you loved the movie you would love the book, it's a classic. Ringu is my all-time favorite though, especially when Reiko has the flashback of the day Sadako's mother does the psychic reading event and Sadako kills that reporter and then grabs Reiko. Japanese movies are the best movies to get when it comes to true horror.

I love the complexity of the story, something many horro movies lack, things like the background story of Sadako. The american version is overrated and an insult to the original, it made Sadaka (or Samara ) out to just be some supernatural killer with no cause :l
Yes, it's also very un-realistic in many aspects. I just want an explanation to "The Face" in The Ring. How could Samara turn someone's face purple?. Ringu just has a look of shock, which is true to be shocked by Sadako's prescence. The well in Ringu is a lot scarier as well. One more thing is how Samara in The Ring flashes as she is going to kill Noah. She's not a hologram as she IS a living thing. How could she touch the floor then? Sadako's prescene however is a lot spookier with an eerie feeling. A great film indeed, same thing with Ju-On and The Grudge.

The TV scene was definitely much better in the original because it was uninterrupted and the way suspense was built up more by stuff like the water leaking out, the way Sadako came out and did that jolty walk rather than just flickering across like Samara did was so much creepier. I thought the Grudge was good, but it resembled Ringu way too much.

I havn't heard of quite a few you are saying, but I agree with some of you who have your ways to protect you when your watching a scary movie...

I don''t care my age, After seeing 4 previous scary movies, I need comfort to get me in bed at night.. :)

I think the most disturbing movie/video I've ever seen has to be Traces of Death. :|
It's basically a compillation of actual murder scenes (some real others fake). My friend showed me one of the volumes- don't remember which though. I think it's banned in the UK. Overall, it's uhm... disturbing to say the least, but it's hard to look away. :/

I don't really get scared over movies tbh.. I kind of laugh at the scary parts cause generally its someone getting killed ;p
Meh, I don't really like "scary" movies anyway. The suspense and psychological thrillers are much more worth watching. You don't need to see someone get stabbed or shot to be scared.
The Hills Have Eyes >;D Scary
Silent Hill was weird also, but not really that disturbing..

I've also seen faces of death, and yeah i'd say that hits 10 in terms of being disturbing.
What is Faces of Death even about? I've heard of it but never have gotten the story straight. Anyway, Cannibal Holocaust is and always will be the most disturbing to me.

It's like a documentary on death and this doctor goes around looking at stuff like mummification and cannibalism and just accidents and stuff, it isn't like an actual film.
That's very interesting. Guinea Pigs is really gross too, the name sounds a bit odd but it's intense.

No, I ment Traces of Death. :]
Faces of Death doesn't have any real authentic murder scenes or anything. It's all acted out for the most part. Traces of Death, however, is based on true events since it's all real. o.o

Mars attack!, IT + ET.
I don't have problems with stuff like the ring, or grudge, (the original Japanese ones are much better than the American ones btw), just with alien things. And i saw IT when i was about 6, then my sister decided to dress up as the clown and chase me around the house, so it sort of made an impact. ET's just plain scary.
