I have coded my website with a little help from Nets and Carl to do with the fixed DIV's, but now I'm looking to make myself a Member System / Tutorial System All-In-One.

What would you surgest?
Should I use the Tech-Tuts one, and modify it so that it displays things differently?
I think I should use the Tech-Tuts base and modify it, and skin in?!

What do you all think is bst?

I want a CMS though with a built in Member System.

That why I am making the TechTuts system, and then im going to modfiy it by adding a CMS, and then skin it, so it opens in a pop-up for the user

The Tech Tuts user system does suck pretty highly, personally id say go from scratch, then you only have to make it as opposed to removing the ****** ineffeicant unsecured code thats already there "/
Phraps build of a forum since they have member systems of a pretty high standard in em by defult

why not hevily modify a CMS like Joomla??

I would agree with Carl, the techtuts member system has alot of unnecessary coding. If you build your own, and if something goes wrong, then you know where it has went wrong - that's how I see it anyway. But, I also don't recoment user systems as they are a pain in the *** for unsigned members as you cannot view certain pages etc, and signing up takes around 5 minutes on some of them just to view one page. (Verifications and passwords checks and such)

Regards,
Craig.

but sometimes having to make users register does have it advantages.

I don't think you'll need to be a member to view the pages... right Joe just to submit a tut?
