Hmm my theory:

Chinese lantern will be removed from the catalogue a week after the end of this whole quest thing or when Mei-Ling is found. Once Mei-ling is found, she will say
that you can keep the Asian furniture in your catalogue for good for helping so much. This furni will include some interesting items we've never seen before.

But thats my theory. No proof in it, but thats what i think.
