Well I'm after one for my birthday, I'm wondering if its worth me getting one, (I'm getting a nano by the way) Are they good or is it just as good buying an mp3 player which will hold lots of songs?

not worth it if its a nano.
especially the 250 dollar one.
why not just get a video for 50 dollars more?

but ye.
get like a zen microphoto or sumit but not nano.
mine doesn't charge/gets erased every time i plug it into the computer.

Nah, Nano's aren't worth it. Either get an iPod Video, or get a different brand altogether.

Its pretty easy to add your music and you have a LOT OF SPACE.. so that mean add all the music you want..

I have a ipod video and I always use it.

Almost everyone has trouble with putting videos on to start.

But the problem I see with the video is how do you put DVDs and movies on it? My brother has one, so he kinda wants to know.

But theres a lot of Creative players. Theres bound to be one for you there

Cheers for the advice everyone,

Oh yeah, How easy is putting music onto iPods?

Is it drag and drop, or do you use a program to do it

you have the choice to have itunes automaticaly move songs/videos/podcasts to the ipod, or you can do it manually with itunes.

?WhyNot?

Its pretty complicated because you have to convert it to a file it accepts.

No its not really that hard.
just drag the file and put it on itunes, right click it, and it says Confert to ACC or whatever.

Oh yeah, How fragile are they?

I dropped my old phillips thing, onto a carpet floor (It was like an iPod but it wasn't if you get me..) And it broke :s

Depends if you have a case or not. My brother's hasent broken yet, so thats a good sign. They have these nice shock-absorbing cases, so Id get one of those.

Two of my friends are constantly returning their iPods due to technical faults, and lack of durability. They break easily according to them.

So, in my opinion, no. It's just a fashion label; everyone wants to branded with iPod, so everybody goes and buys one.

I have a player by Creative, and it works a treat, never had a problem with it.

A reason why I want an iPod though is because if anything goes wrong with it, quite a few of my friends have one so I won't be totally stuck, And its easy to get help with it..

videos are easy to put on. just goto video.google.com and you can download all videos in .mp4 form, then just add them to iTunes, plug in your iPod and they're added automatically. simple as that.

Putting songs on a Ipod is easy has anything, the first time it can be hard but then its easy as anything.

You put a cd in for instance, untick the boxes on the left which look something like this;
http://i3.tinypic.com/23ram8m.jpg (http://http://i3.tinypic.com/23ram8m.jpg)

So, theones ticked you want. After that at the top right it will say import..click it and then it downloads.

Its not done yet. Next, look in your library and you will see the songs.

Last step, plug in your ipod or if it is already in take out then put in. Its a way of updating the ipod so it knows what is downloading. Then go to library and edit things. Just right-click on a song press "get info" and you got the artist, song, date etc I just have the arist and song it makes it less messy.

You cannot go on your ipod and change things you have to go to library. The thing is to remember that you have to plug it in to update it :P . You can also download songs from the music store, with new and old songs (which i ALWAYS do).

The itunes website gives you lots of help aswell, mine doesn't break if you drop it, so what? You can't look after it 24/7.
Hope this helped.

IPod Nano's are good because it's very easy to get your music on quickly. But the nano I have is no different to my dad's normal everyday MP3. :l
Although the nano has games on like 'Music quiz' and all this on, pretty good. ;l ish. :] lol.

Yeah, but google video doesnt have much. I wish youtube had it.
If you use FireFox, there's an extension called 'VideoDownloader', get that and it allows you to download video from YouTube as a .flv file. Then get 'Total Video Converter' and convert it to an iPod format. The only thing is, unless you register the software, you get some writing at the top.

I'd suggest getting a Sony/Creative one. Most are cheaper and will probally hold the same, if not more, tracks/videos then an iPod.
