Since some people seem to be deluded with incorrect information about the age of consent in the UK, especially when it comes to homosexual relationships, I thought I'd share this link with you. I've posted it before, but it seems people have the inability to read these days.

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/1045383.stm (http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/1045383.stm)

The laws regarding the age of consent changed in the UK in the year 2000. Under the new act the universal age of consent is now sixteen, for everyone in the UK - straight or gay. Except Northern Ireland where it is seventeen.

Before this updated act was introduced in the year 2000 the age of consent for people in a gay relationship was eighteen; and people in a straight relationship sixteen.

I don't really blame people for being misconstrued with incorrect information as schools, and television very rarely teach anything related to homosexuality and when they do, they seem to have a habit of presenting information from out of date material.

Personally, I think it's important to know the facts as a little bit of sex can in some circumstances get you into more trouble than you may have bargained for.

Globally, the age of consent differs greatly between fourteen years old, and twenty one years old.

I know, kind of shocking since it's the countries governments decision, lol. I think some countries may even go as low as 13.

Totally off topic, i think it's a good idea to lower the age to 13, as from statistics you see that in places where it is 13, there are less teenage preganancies. Oh.

I agree.

But it's not just the age of consent that affects their lower teenage pregnancy's and better sexual health. These countries also have better sex education in schools, and a better media portrayal of sex and relationships.

They never teach you the pleasure side of sex :$. I pondered why on earth someone would want to experiment with sex if you would get nothing else out of it except babies. I wondered what the point of a condom was if the only reason someone would want to have sex is to make a baby.
