I really think it is terrible to download illegal music! It is wrecking the music also it's stealing :S why do people not think it's stealing? It's just as bad as stealing somones hand bag e.c.t . I mean people these days just download any music for free! and thats not right. I just wish they had way to stop people like this. If it was up to me all them people who download music without paying would be put in Jail !

Actually it's really record company's fault. There was a poll done on people who download music, and the majority said they dont buy it because it's too expencive. Which is true. CD's used to be very cheep, now they arent. Did you know that a CD, with the case, takes a few cents to make? Then why are they $15+? Because the record companys are greedy obviously. They have plenty of money, they just want more. If CDs were lowered to 5$, I would buy 3+ CDs and they would still get their money, but I wont buy a single CD for 15 dollars.
I dont hear any bands complaining either. They have plenty to get by, not to mention a majority of their money comes from tours.
By the way-- 'I ruin the music charts'? Sorry to break this to you, but the music charts are just one giant piece of poop anyway

You won't be able to stop it, its up to the people who run the sites who upload music illegally. If they werent there, there wouldnt be any free music

Thats a completely different scenario because a song can be douplicated by any one person anywhere, there are millions of copys of a song. When you steal a car, the car isnt still with the owner.

Okay, youre choice to buy music. I do it myself too.

I love the unbiased poll.
Anyway, yes, I download music all the time and I don't have trouble sleeping. I don't download music from mainstream artists and most of my music can't be bought in stores anyway. So, by loophole, I'm actually supporting musicians by promoting their music. I also let people download my music as well. I don't make money off of my creations and I'm not bothered when someone else has my music without paying for it first. There is always a way to make money. Most mainstream artists now have more concerts and more shows to make up for loss of sales. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. You have to change with technology and if you don't, then you won't make it.

Yep this really is a stupid poll. Anyway those people who File Share don't know its illegal - theres no warnings, But the people who UPLOAD the music do, so aren't they responsible?

how do we 'wreck' the charts by downloading music?

how do we 'wreck' the charts by downloading music?
exactly. it doesn't change the charts. it just means that less copies of the number 1 will be sold?

Dont we 'help' it in a way coz website DJ's might play a track that was 'illegally' downloaded and the listeners think "ooh i like this I'll buy it" So for 1 illegal download you might get 5 singles bought which is a loss of what 79p?! We're not Wrecking it at all.
