Homophobic?

long story, if you dont want to read jsut skip to the last bit :P

but anyway, some of you will know off my last thread i was rather unsettled with my sexuality and most people thought i was bisexual so ive went along with that, being happy about it. a few months ago i told some of my closest friends, sophie, sarah, chelsee and sarah. (yes 2 sarahs). and they were fine about it. one of them even introduced me to their bisexual friend and we ended up dating each other.

my gf lived in york which was hard, but she came down to see me and sarah (her friend / my friend too) and whilst we were walking around holding hands, as people do, a bunch of chavs saw us from my year. they jsut asked questions, didnt show any sign of homophobic actions or anything. i just sed i was bisexual cos they still thought i was with my x bf jake.

anyway, because they saw me i decided to tell the last 2 of my closest friends who were in my group. i knew they were a little bit homophobic but it wud have been worse coming from someone elses mouth and not mine. So i phoned kay up and told her. she was like OMG YOUR NOT. my friend sophoe went to tlak to her on the phone and she wudnt reply and when i wet bak on she still didnt. i tried to re-call her but her phone was engadged.

i phoned maxine who is also in our group, the other girl, and she was like omg.. okay. then she went wuub2, n i was like at the beach. n she jsut said okay my cred is runing out ill see yah later. and she was fine. when i eventually got through sophie tlaked to kay pretending i was there and kay had phoned sarah T.

when sophie finsihed tlaking to kay i phoned sarah and sarah said kay had been saying she was gunna throw up etc. and being really nasty. they've been out to the beach with me since and they keep giving me looks or saying stuff and to get them bak i went on maxines messenger account and gave her number out 2 this one lad, every other lad her her number anyway cos shes been with atleast 5 of them.

he had phoned her which was rather funny in mine and sophies point of view as it was sophies idea. but she came round n asked, of course i lied n said no n they went off to sophies. i phoned sophie half an hour later and they had sed to her its not over the messenger thing its because im bisexual.

they've been saying stuff behind my back, sarah T had sworn shes on my side and wont speek to them and then she fell out with her mum and was kissing maxines backside agen. kay and maxine think they have won because both the 2 sarahs and sophie is speaking to them.

when we go bak in september they sed that they are elaving the gorpu, ithink sarah T is going with them, sarah C dont hang round with us, and it will just be me and sophie.

i dont know what to do. tbh i want to speak to them but not be proper friends. i just need a way to get them to realise im the same person its jsut them whos changed. i also need to ake sure i have a group of friends left in september. Sarah T has been 2-faced so it will take a while before im happy withher again.

is there a way to turn homophobics witches into half-normal people?

All i can say is well done for being truthful with yourself and obviously having a relationship and not carign what people think.

As for your homophobic friends, i wouldn't bother with them. If they were true friends they wouldn't be ignoring you and dissing you!! If you want to prove it try organising a night out maybe like you've done before and if they agree with it at the end say LOOK SEE I'M STILL THE SAME PERSON?

otherwise, i wouldn't bother with them. your being yourself that's all that matters.

My best advice could be just ignore them, eventually they will realize what idiots they have been, I doubt you will be able to change their opinion with constant nagging so just give them some space. Also, its good to know you still have a good friend who sticks by your side through all of this. Eventually when the school year starts again I bet you will all be back to normal ...

I mean look at it this way, not many people see it as odd where you are located? you walked past a load of chavs without being hurled abuse at?

Okay well... lol.

First of all, I'm glad your comfortable with your sexuality and felt you were able to confide in your friends rather than keep it all a big secret, no matter how it's turned out.

Now, the whole phoning thing confused me a bit... lol But I notice you said you gave out your friends number to a guy to get your own back on her? That has only fuelled this whole situation and was the wrong thing to do in my eyes. Although the revenge may have been good for you, it could have resulted in her getting into all sorts of bother and it put her safety at line, which was selfish on your behalf, and for that I feel you should apologise.

Being bi-sexual isn't a big deal, but when you find out one of your closest friends are at your age, then it is quite a shock because they will have never probably had to deal with anyone being anything other than straight in their lives, therefore it's most likely a wee shock to their systems. However, at the end of the day you cannot help what you are, and you should be proud of what you are and not feeling as though you are a bad person for your sexuality.

You need to just perhaps get together with your friends, or send them all an e-mail or something, but just you let them know that you still ant to be their friends and yo don't care about all the fighting that's happened, you just want things back to normal - but their just going to have to accept your sexuality. Inform them, that just because your bi-sexual has in no way changed you, and it doesn't mean your going to try and hit on them or something. You need to explain to them that if they can't handle the fact of your sexuality, then they need to grow up - because their going to get a big shock in life if they can't get over the fact someone isn't straight. Also tell them, that unless this is all just forgotten about, something as pathetic as this, is going to ruin all of your friendships.

If their not too bothered though, and don't seem to care - then their not good enough friends for you. Real friends should stick by you through thick and thin no matter what happens, and shouldn't just curb you to the door because they disagree with something. If their not willing to give your friendship another go, I say just move on and forget about them, it'll be the best for you.

At school in September, if it does turn out all of them in a new group and you on your own, you could just start talking to some new people and maybe try to form friendships with them instead.

No matter what though, you should not be made to feel guilty about your sexuality, so be proud of what you are! :]

After a while people get over it, and get used to it if they aren't in the first place.

Although most people today are quite accepting, and it isn't as taboo in todays society it still comes as a bit of a shock to the system when someone close to you comes out as gay, or bisexual.
