Ok below will show you what you can do with this technique:

Place a Z shelf down

Put another Z shelf on top and rotate the bottom shelf

Put another Z self on top and rotate the one underneathe it and then the one underneathe that and so on...

When you get to here its just plain sailing xD

I am in this example going to use Tv's and stack them ontop of eachother with a pillow at the bottom:

And then you remove the 2 top Z shelfs and put a Tv in and so on until you get to the bottom

Flat stacking isnt that tricky ;)
Just takes a bit of patience and good timing
