ye you have to talk to the guards by the dungeon sign there and they ask for a gold bar to show your friendship then they let you thru and you can go there.

Need to have done watchtower quest. Talk to the guards and they let you thru the gates/obstacles i think.

I think I need to get to the part with all 3 pieces of statue ;S then I can do that bit.

You must get D bones, an orgre's tooth, an ogre's gold bar to make the statue a rock cake and some coins to get through the place.
I got the same clue.
Ended up with a poor reward though.
So just get D bones and some coins and start the quest (Ogre tooth, gold bar and rock cakes are given in the quest)
