Hey,

I was just wondering about your Airport trips of experiances that have seemed to go wrong in some ways. Such as delays etc. So basically, Post your stories that have happened and we can see where we get to.

Mine would have to be:
Me and my family were in a Greek Airport that i must say, Wasn't the best ive been in. We were all checked in for our flight and it was announced out flight was delayed for 1 and a half hours. So we sat down on the floor(As there were no seats) When the hour and a half had pasted it was announced it was delayed for another 4 hours due to a engine problem on the plane. We were starting to get rather annoyed by now as there was no food or drink and was rather frustrating. the calls just seemed to keep coming. Eventually we had been delaayed 13 hours and it was now 1AM in the morning. We eventually get on the flight back home to england and were told that one engine had failed so we were flying with 1 less engine. So that worried me a little. We finally get back to England and as its 4 in the morning my Dad and brother go to get the luggage and my Mum and sister and I go to get the car. We take the walk over to the car which took around 15 minutes and realise we have the wrong car Keys =[. We then have the walk back to the terminal and to make things worse we couldn't find my Dad and brother. It was all fine in the end about 1 hour later =].

Sorry that was along story. So please post yours.
Thanks alot.

When I went to Spain last year, We had like strong winds towards us, so we had to land at Malaga, they fuled the plane, while we were in.
But it's wrong, people can't be on plane, while they fule.
It's a safety causion.. >;].
It's not horrible because there is no big change of plane blowing up.
It's just weird, that they don't follow safety rules..

And Btw, one Suardess went off the plane,
and I had the feeling that we landed there only beause of her, the fueling was second grade thing..
it was weird.
She looked fine and stuff, but went off, all the uniform on and stuff, and Au revoir >;]

Was in JFK airport, last tuesday. Flight was at 6:30pm and we boarded. We were on the taxi way for about an hour for customs or something to clear and the pilot had noticed that the right engine's probe wasn't working. (The probe is to know if the engine is working). They said that it would take about an hour to test it and to see if it needed a new one. Got to about 9pm, still on the plane and the captain says that they are finding the part in the hanger or what ever. Came to 10:30pm, still on the plane and they cancelled the flight to the morning. They gave everyone rooms at the holiday inn in Queens. It's a cheap business class plane so only about 50-60 passengers. We had food on the plane aswell. Well 4 hours stuck on a plane that hasn't even left the ground and had to stay over night. That is my worst airport/plane disaster lol.

Same, thankfully. I've only went on 2 trips by plane anyway, from Singapore to Taiwan and back. Not much problems, the service was quite good.

that sucks ]:

well mine actually happend on saturday (12 august). on the flight to palma me and none of me and my family got a meal. we had to sit at the back and people getting meals sat at the front. so there must have been some people at the front that got a free meal lol. and we where delayed for 2 hours.

then on the way back we was delayed for another 2 hours. not many flights where delayed. typical ]: but i got a meal this time lol.

and same, at the car park we had to wait 30 mins for the car. they lost the keys lol ]:

edit:

also a few years ago (can't remember which airport) their was a big bomb scare and we was in the same place for 7 hours+ i think. we couldn't even park are car.

Hey.

Thanks for all the stories coming in, Some seem bad. Ive also had one sare when i got back a couple of years ago we arrieved back in Stansted or Gatwick and as we arrived we were told to evaquate. That was a scary thing as nobody had a clue what was happening. Later on in that day we saw in the news it was a terror alert. So i was glad to be safe =].
Keep them coming in.
Thanks.

I am lucky, only really about 30 minutes I think, but we had to rush on Easy(Hard)Jet :] from barcelona because if we wre abit late later, air traffic control would have told us to wait for another 4 hours for another slot.

Liberation

Airtraffic Control? Why would they have told you to wait. Surley it would have been the checkin staff as Air Traffic control dont do that there the navagatiors for the plane. Do you mean the check in Staff?

Well a few years ago I went to Florida and the flight over was the worst experience ever :$

Started off at Glasgow airport being delayed for 3 hours because the plane had to be de-iced in Luton (I was going around January time). Once the plane had been de-iced it set off to Gatwick then to Glasgow and came and picked us up.

We flew over Ireland towards the Atlantic when my Dad notices that the plane is flying around in a circle. Captain comes on and tells us there is a fault with the plane and we have to land at an airport to get it fixed. We flew back to Gatwick. Yet another delay for up to 4 hours. The airline only gave us coupons to go and get food at the departure lounge.

After the 4 hours we board the plane to find it is the exact same plane. With everything ok we head off to Florida Sanford Airport. On that flight we found out they didn't have dinner meals so I had 2 breakfasts on board that wasn't cooked right. In total having 3 breakfasts :eusa_sick

We reach Sanford Airport and queue in passport control line for 2 hours and finally reached our hotel and 4am in the morning at what felt like 2 days after leaving Glasgow airport.

I refuse to fly with Britannia (I think that's how you spell it) ever again :@

Its impossible to fly with one engine, unless the planes have 4, but ryanair use boeing 737's that only have 2.
Therefore the aircraft would plummet spiralling..

lSander

I know why you delay so much.
RyanAir & EasyJet are cheap airlines.
Thats why they have all this accidents with engines and stuff.
they delay all the time.
Thats why I'm not flying them.

Not true.
Easyjet nor ryanair have never had a crash, they are the safest airline to fly with, they have more aircraft then most others, so your bound to get a delay with some. Also, if they had to fix a problem, i'd rather wait then come hurtling towards the ground at 500mph...

Safest ?
RyanAir is offering tickets for £25. it includes fuel and airport fee.
Hmm, what fuel they use ?
That they get it so cheap ?

Chaz
21-08-2006, 11:50 AM
There is only one type of fuel you can use, aviation fuel.

Its cheaper beacause they have many aircraft. So more aircraft more people. More profit..

Also £25 a ticket is off peak times, they are £200 in june-august seasons.

lSander
21-08-2006, 11:57 AM
£200 for a cheap airliner ticket.

I fly with many airlines,
Ryanair
Quantas
Singapore Airline
Easy Jet
British Airways.
And others

When i moved back to England (From Australia) We flew to Singapore i think..
Yeh it was.. And i LOVED the airport, it was beautiful..
Some man came running in with a gun, and somehow managed to get on the runways, and kill himself!

We also go stopped in Zurich to be de-iced with Singapore Airlines for 3 hours. The staff we're well boss. They gave me toys and sweets and colouring packs lol!

We had a bomb scare flying to America..

We'd been delayed for 2 days once..
And my mum's tv thingy broke back from Australia..

And when i was like 8, i was on my holidays, at my school club thingy, and we went to Sydney Airport in a minibus, and we was on the runway, it was like.. AWESOME.

Plus never fly with Lufansa, they're absolutly crap.
The food and service is crud.

I guess we've been delayed an hour or two, no big deal though.

Theres was this airline in Canada and before it went bankrupt they were selling tickets for $1. Sounds great, but you also had to pay the tax and that made it like $100+, I don't know why or how tax on a dollar could be like $100.

Last airline I was on was Jetblue and it was pretty good =)
