The font in the banner is terrible.
I reccomend www.dafont.com, get a better font and maybe try a different font colour?

Im going to be critical of myself here. Nothing is perfect. This is not perfect. I need to improve on some parts of the design as some have told me over MSN I know. It is not perfect (Had to say)

I know banner is terribe as I just wrote that in randomly

First off, if your going to use scanlines as a background, there needs to be a colour underneath, otherwise it looks crap. The text is ok, obviously as you followed a tutorial. The scanlines on the boxes arn't that good.

It's a bit, plain. I mean, the banner box is only 1/4 taken up by the banner, unless your going to add something to it. The scanlines on the banner must go.

The navigation boxes I don't like. A gradient on a drop down navigation never was my thing and I doubt it's many peoples elses. If your going to use a drop down nav then I suggest just using text as a drop down. It's easier, and more effective.

The shadow on the boxes has too much spread on it as sometimes the shadow off one box, overlaps the shadow on another box. Also, lower the opacity on the shadows.

Onto, the banner. The text could do with bulking out abit as the "glossy" text I think doesn't go well with thin fonts.

It looks like it's too small aswell. Try and bulk the content box out a bit, and the banner doesn't have to be the width of the layout.

Good Luck, it might become a great layout.

I'm only going to write a quick review as i'm quite busy but I think the 'Welcome to RK.info' has to go as it's ugly and extremely out of place. The most obtrusive thing about the layout is the drop shadow. When used with skill it looks amazing but you seem to have overused it and it looks not too good.

The header is blank and needs some kind of logo instead of text with a gradient filter on it which makes it looks weird and out of place, with 'clean' layouts I don't tend to use gradients, but standard clean fonts with a nice clean vector logo which makes up a brilliant header.

I like most of the navigation except the black font saying 'navigation' on the scanlines, it honestly looks awful and it makes the functionality dissappear away, the drop-down menu is completely useless usually if someone has Javascript turned off which I guess you will be using Dynamic HTML or AJAX to code for functionality.

The content box is rather bland and boring and could do with some filter text and some H1, H2 and also an image or something to make it look awesome.

The image also needs a re-structure to use a footer unless you want to use a blank white space with awful results for your disclaimer and sitemap.

Good luck. I give a 6/10 as you tried and keep practising, I look forward to your next graphical design.

Edit: Vixt seems like you used my style ;o but good as there is now more constructive reviews on designs on Habbox Forum ;D

Yup, I figured just posting "That's BRILL 10/10 OMFGZ!"
Doesn't quite fit the bill, and as that's what many people on here do, I thought I might aswell join the Oracle side and write a proper review.

I also think the welcome to Rk.info needs to go.

Ok guys thanks for all this. I'll work on it.

Also for those of you who didn't know the RK.Info in the banner isn't the actual banner that was just a mock up I used.

I should of definately made a proper banner for it which I could of shown as one of the final products on the banner.

I have gotten rid of the scanline background and it is now a solid colour. I am still working to try and get that "wow" factor onto my design but as I live in Scotland im back to school so I have not a lot of time due to other commitments.

But i've taken what everyone said into consideration and I'll post the "finished" result soon

Regards
