Depends on how tall / what figure you are Chris :p You wouldn't want to end up in a Corsa and realise you can't actually sit in it...

But yeah the 1's above are the most obvious choices! :p

I've looked into this long before and a decent 2nd hand corsa will be from £2,500- £3,500 and then you have to pay your insurance which if not on a parents insurance could cost you a heavy £1200 on a 1.2 engine.

Yeh I know and it tends to go up if you have a car that has an engine bigger than 1.4 .
Its not necceserely because of age, its because your a new driver on the road and your more than likely going to take a few bumps in the early stages. And the amount of idiots that shouldn't even pass there tests make tax and insurance cost more.

Thinking about a ford focus

Focuses are a good car, but you need to look for one that has a small engine, i'm not sure if they tend to make a small engine as you would find in say a fiesta or corsa.

So are you doing your driving lessons then?

go for something cheap to learn on, keep it for 3 months after passing incase u have a crash - not as much loss. then when ur more experienced go for a better car :)

i know the car im getting when i pass my driving test... a citroen c2 1.6 vts i think they look cool and not cheap :) they cost around £10,000 for a top of the range or you could get a 1.1 bottom of the range for £6,500 hope this info helps :)

oh and something else, id choose from the following

*citroen c2
*ford fiesta
*ford ka
*renault clio
*fiat punto
*vw fox/polo/golf

I wouldn't get a Ford Ka. I would get something like a Golf, although it really depends on your budget on both the car and on insurance.

How will you afford that? remember the cost of running the car and its a sports edition, the insurance will top £2000. Why get an expensive car when theres the possibility of smashing it up?

For a new driver, going on insurance by yourself will cost you aleast £1200 on a small car, but you want a brand spanking new car which is a sports edition, your insurance will be very high. Do you have a job to pay for the car itself?

I've a 1.1 ford fiesta, not exactly the best but its cheap to insure and a small car so easier to park in.

Ford Fiesta, easy to drive and cheap to insure. Corsa's are crap compared apparently. I have 2 friends with Corsa's and they don't exactly love them...

I've just read some of the comments before my last one. The insurance for my 1.4 Ford Fiesta on one deal was climbing up towards £4,000. That was FordInsure. I cost £1,200 to insure my car with Tescos, which is where I went in the end. A Sports Edition of car will surely make it way over £2,000 to £4,000, maybe more.

Ferarri's cost alot of money mate.

Anyway, a Citroën C2 is good, maybe the C1, though that is ugly as hell.

Toyota Jazz? They're pretty cheap second hand, or a Toyota Aygo, though they are ugly aswell x]

Renault Clio is a good choice, compact and comfortable ;D

Oo or a Kia Picanto, they're cheap, though Kia aren't a good make of car.
