View Full Version : Speeding Motorist Walks Free... Did I say he was a Policeman?

A Police Officer walked free from court today after he was convicted with a dangerous driving charge. Yes; A dangerous driving charge.
PC Mark Milton was driving an unmarked car on the M54 in Shropshire when his onboard camera picked up speeds of 159mph.
So Why did he get away with it?
Firstly he got away with it without charges, however the High Court overturned this and a retrial took place.
The Judge at a magistrates court in Ludlow gave PC Milton an absolute discharge despite the fact he was doubling the speed limit.
PC Milton admits driving at 159mph and says he was "familiarising himself with the vehicle"

But he clearly wasn't being called to somewhere... x] Thanks, just wondered.
Somehow, I think if this was anyone else, they would be in a little more trouble? :s

Exactly. The Judge said he was discharging him because he had been through enough, enough being 2 and a half years of court cases.
Pfft.

To be fair though, he's going to have to live with the fact that he has killed soneone else.

(I'm not trying to justify what he did or the outcome of the trial or anything btw lol)

no-one was harmed so.. i have nothing to say on it rofl. sure it was dangerous but nothing happened.

At least he did not kill anyone... Soo no point moaning about it really ;]
