Ok, I've just read the results for the Kerrang! Awards 2006. Most of them diserved [sp] but then I saw Best Band on the planet.
The Nominees:

My Chemical Romance
Trivium
Avenged Sevenfold
HIM
Lacuna Coil
Fall Out Boy

I would've voted Trivium or Avenged Sevonfold. Why HIM are there I don't know, they're pretty much dead atm. Haven't heard enough of Lacuna Coil to comment and although Fall Out Boy are good, no way are they Best Band on the Planet.

Wait, these are the noms for the greatest band on the planet? I think they need to go back and check for other bands that there could possibly be in the world. Scuzz is the only channel that i have seen play my top 5 bands.
Kerrang play Fall Out Boy, My Chemical Romance, Nirvana and Green Day on repeat.

Exactly! Where are the actual original bands like Mastodon? This poll should have been entitled 'Most Popular Current Band' or something. I mean, Metallica are still around, I don't see them in the poll. A7X are the only band I even come close to liking in all of those bands. I notice they've finished kissing the plural ***** of Bullet for my Valentine and found new flavours of the week. Seems like Lacuna Coil are gonna continue to be called 'the future of metal' now by every magazine, website, and TV channel until they just run out of fans. If this is the way music is going, with bands whose popularity only lasts a year at most, then music is heading right into a very deep pit from which there is no return.

I notice know, that Fall out Boy wasn't actually a nominee, I got it wrong lmao. But, MCR won the awards 2006, it was hosted last thursday and I watched parts of it

Just because they have not advertised there new album as much as most (I.E Fallout boy) does not mean they are bad musically. Thats what i like about the Kerrang! awards, its about the music not popularity.
