Well, I just want to find out what EVERYBODY's favourite genre is. Maybe your greeboish or emoish and you like heavy rock or punk music? Maybe your a bit of a chav and you like RnB or rap? Perhaps your the sort of person that just likes to have a good time on the dancefloor and likes trance and dance? You could even be a person that likes to listen to the beat of a song, or maybe your a surfer that likes reggae or maybe, I wouldn't listen to this personally, but maybe you like classical or jazzy music? So hey, please answer the poll and post who you voted for and why if you want to? :)

i like most genres really.. it'd be hard for me to chose a favourite genre. but i'd probably go for r&b/hip hop. but then again, sometimes i hate it. it all depends on mood. AHH i can't chose :| but why have you sterotyped people and the music they listen to?! haha.

Punk for me ^-^

real punk though, not this new terrible stuff like simple plan & mcr etc. stuff like anti-flag = (L)
but i also listen to other genres, rap, dance, techno, acoustic, rnb, hip hop, & mostly anything that falls under rock.

Real punk for me is the original masters of punk. The sex pistols, The Ramones, The clash.
Simple plan is pop rock and MCR falls under emotive rock. Just what I think anyway...
I'll choose the genre of Rock, since most of the stuff I like can fall into branches of that.
And btw, nation of Habboxforum? ;)
I don't mean to sound like I'm trying to be 'above' everyone else here, but there are so many kinds of rock that it's inevitable that rock will be the highest poll choice. When you say just 'rock', you're more or less incorporating all guitar music, from death metal to indie rock, from Cannibal Corpse to Journey South.
To single out one genre, I'd say my favourite is thrash metal.

in general, i'd say rock. but for specific genre's, i couldn't choose between post-hardcore & hip-hop. i love them equally :]

Rock/Heavy Metal. Guns N' Roses, Aerosmith, AC/DC, Skid Row, Velvet Revolver, Ash, Evanescence, etc. You can't get better than that.

I hate it how people lable Rap as chav music, its not in any way. I think you'll find that people who pay attention to the Rap scene are true to the music. Chavs listen to the commercial rubbish that seems to fulfill kids dreams.
My favorite on the poll is Rap but i listen more to Hip Hop and have a liking to some rock.

Most people will vote for rock, because you haven't split it up enough into things like metal or emo or something

Dance for me ;]
I like grime. But that would come under rap, and also under rap comes commercial crap like Eminem and 50 Cent.

Grime is a new genre of music made by the British. Its been underground for about 5 years now and certain artists have made it out mainstream to help promote it in the last 2-3 years now.
Its a combination of UK rap and garage or as we call it grime beat. Its big in London atm and spreading all around the UK now to places like Birmingham and Manchester which are also pulling out young talent for this fresh new genre of music.
Certain MC's that have made it mainstream are:
- The Streets
- The Mitchell Brothers
- Kano
- Sway
- Lethal Bizzle
- Akala
- Choong Family
These are ones people will know and theres still up and comming artists that others may know about if they pay attention to the Grime scene alot more.
Americans who'd know would classify this as UK Rap but its different, its our own, its unique and its fresh and young so theres plenty more of it to come.
I'm sure in about 10 years time you'll have heard about it, remember its only in the early days, its not as big yet but it will soon promote itself through the artists comming through.
And code, I didn't realise you were into this music :p
