Voting at 16? Do you support this campaign?
I do.
There are many youngsters like myself who take an interest in the politics of this country, and the worldwide goings on.
We teenagers have very active minds, our minds are more active than an adults. Where an adult would probably have a fixed opinion about which political party they support. We can be all over the place.
If we can understand Politics, why shouldn't we be able to vote?
So Questions I'm asking:
Do you support votes at 16? Why?
If you could vote, Would you? Why (not) ?
If you could vote, Who would you vote for at this moment in time?
When we are talking about voting in this thread, It is going on about who you would vote for in a General Election, i.e which party you would like to be Government.
Thanks

Yeah I do support voting at 16. I'd think most 16 year olds are mature enough to vote and make a wise decision.
I'm not 16, but yeah I would vote. Most of the decisions wouldn't effect me really, but the only thing i'd be concerned about is the education and jobs. Taxes etc. won't concern me.
I don't know any British political parties, but in Canada i'd probably vote for the "Conservative" party, since the Liberals were in a major scandal stealing the countrys money.

In Britain until recently the Conservative party were frowned upon.
I still frown upon them because originally they were a party for the Upper Classes.
Are the Conservative Party in Canada the same?

Its annoying being at the age of 16-17 because you feel your old enough to make your own decisions but so many things are limited to the age of 18.
I'm not too bothered, i'm in no rush to worry about politics at this age and don't see much point in voting anyway, whoever we get they all seem to talk bs.

I know naff all about politics & i wouldn't vote because i wouldn't know who to vote for, so i really wouldn't be bothered whether it was 16 or 18 or whatever.

It should be 16. I'm mature enough to make a decision like that, but I don't really like any of the parties tbh.

i'd vote if they lowered the age, i'd like to think i made somewhat of a contribution to choosing how the country is run -shrug-

It wont happen. Id like to vote too, but...
Too much pressure from parents. Think about it, basically every kid is going to vote for the same person their parents vote for, out of choice or out of pressure from a parent. That would really skew the vote dont you think? But mostly 18 year olds are out of the house and on their own and make their own choice.

Parents can pressure their children to vote for a certain party all they want really, but it's the children who are voting... whatever they decide when they're at the hall place is up to them.
Their parents can't actually do the voting for them... plus voting is supposed to be kinda secret.
So I disagree with what you say. XD
I'm old enough to vote, and will vote next time.
I'm not that into politics but i'd like to have some kind of influence on the way the country is run. Even if it's by just one vote.

That still doesnt change that most kids have the same political opinion as their parents. Im not saying pressure as in theyre making them do it, Im saying pressure to vote for the same thing their parents did. Im sure everyone on this forum would vote for the same person their parents did, volentarily. So that just means there are more votes with the same outcome.
