Babysitting Rates

What is your average rate for babysitting. I have gotten some ****** jobs lately. I had to babysit this kid (5 years old) and two new born puppies for a week, 9 hours a day. I got paid 100$ in the end, which I had to split with my sister and I kind of felt ripped off. They said they would be paying me 'good' but I never got an ammount, which was stupid of me. That's roughly 2$/hour.

What do you charge?
I would say fair would be 5$-10$ depending on how many kids, and how late I was staying.

I'd say, the amount of children doubled per hour, so 1 child = £2 per hour.

And for the hours you were staying, times the amount per hour, so 2 child, for lets say 3 hours, would be £4 x 3hrs = £12?

Well, thats just what i'd say. The only person i've ever babysat for have been relatives so i never got paid

i sometimes do it, £2 and hour with 1 kid, but normally have 2 or 3 kids to look after.

$100 is like £55 or thereabouts, for a whole week of babysitting that's pretty awful. I used to go babysitting with my girlfriend (hehe..) and it was one kid, we got like £4 an hour, £5 an hour past midnight.

When I babysat, I didn't have an hourly rate. I got about £15 - £20 for about 3 hours. One time I got £30 because I was supposed to only babysit from 5 to 8 but they rang up saying if I could babysit 'till 10.
