I have genetic Low Blood Pressue, my Mum has it my grandparents have it. After resting (watching TV ect) and getting up quickly makes me dizzy and my vision goes strange for a second or two. Nothing serious.

When I do sport like hockey or when I run at the gym or at school, I find it tremedously difficult to carry on. I have little stamina, is this part of my low blood pressure, or the fact that I should get fitter?

+REP to those that help.

I dont think its associated with your low blood pressure, I think i have low blood pressure to because when i get up my im extremely dizzy for a minutes, but If your having trouble carrying on It might be becaue you are developing asthma [sp?], there is a possibility that you dont work out or you dont burn of energy like you used to so now its harder to burn off..

I do believe that I have some kind of very mild asthma because after running middle distances I end up coughing and being ill for the rest of the day. :(

Nothing to do with low blood pressure, most people have it, including me sometimes.

running middle distances I end up coughing and being ill = Lack of warming up, i often get that when doing long distance, but maybe being ill is little to far, but coughing is common.

Try getting a friend to do execise with you, or listen to music while you do it... WORKS FOR ME.

Hope that helps...

I wouldn't call myself unfit, as I regularly go to the gym and play hockey once a week, let alone walk miles each week too and from places. But advice taken. Oh and not lack of intrest, I've been playing hockey for 10 years. =D

TBH, I get that dizzy thing too, and my family have genetic high blood pressure, but I keep fit which means my BP doesn't rise as fast as someone who doesn't keep fit, so I have a relatively low blood pressure. Keep fit, and try to work for a few minutes extra each week, so maybe week 1 exercise, 1 hour, week 2, 1 hour 5 min and so on.

hope this helps, Wig44 :D

Dunno if you were talking to me but if you were, I only get a pain in my chest if I run those painful 6 mile relays...

yes. One time when I started to play hockey right I got on, ran about and then couldn't breathe. That was scary,

I have that but i have a slightly different version when i even sit down for a few seconds and get up slowly my eyes go funny and i get dizzy..

When there is Not enough blood pressure to get blood to the coronary arteries (the arteries that supply blood to the heart), a person can develop chest pain (angina) or even a heart attack.
