Both Wikipedia and www.dictionary.co.uk (http://www.dictionary.co.uk) say that Lol stands for laughing out loud. However my friend says it's laugh.

it doesnt realy make much diffence, lol is usealy used as nartation hence "laughing" makes more sence than laugh out loud, unless you insted commanding your contact to laugh? So the wikipeida is correct.,
