I was wondering, does anyone here have a HDTV? (with the additional HD equipment)

I've seen them on the TV and in shops and stuff, but for anyone that has one, are they much better, and are they as good as people say they are?

yeah, the panasonic hd is really good. and so is sky+hd, only problem is there are only certain channels which are hd, but in a couple of years they probably all will be. i think its well good. the picture is fantastic imo, football in hd is great.

ya I got a HDTV

I got it hooked up to my xbox 360 which is amazing.

And also We get like 7 HD tv channels which are good too.

You can like see the sweat on the basketball players.

I heard actors dont like it because you can see all of the acne and red stuff on their face. With old TVs it would just blend in.

yeah, they had to change how they do they make-up or something like that. coz if someone had a spot you would be able to see it, its that clear

I think i'm gonna ask for one as my christmas present :) then hopefully planning to get an xbox 360 for it. The picture quality is noticable. There slowly going down in price aswell which is good.
Theres also HD DVD drivers too.

I have a 46" Sony wide-screen HD TV.
We don't have a high-definition reciever yet because they don't have the HD+PVR recievers available atm.
I've watched THE OC on HD before and the volume went up and down a lot and it got quite anoying.
Anyway, I love it.

Balls to HD, I can see what's happening without it ^_^ People care too much about good graphical quality these days, forget about the quality of what we're actually watching.

If you want something that will really change the way you watch movies it is digital audio cables.

My home theater system was set up before with 5 speakers but it just had rca audio cables running to the receiver.

I watched movies and plaied video games and thought it was surround sound but then realized that it couldnt be because only L and R imputs were going to the speakers.

So after I bought digital audio cables everythign sounded so much better.

If you have surround sound speakers make sure you have suround sound going to your receiver to notice a big difference.

Very true FJ. :) No, I don't. I don't plan on getting one soon, unless the one we have downstairs (which is big sony widescreen) breaks. :)
