Today, GMTV said that the death of steve irwin was acctually recorded on video and they have seen it. They also said that the spear/barb penetrated the heart and you see Steve attempting to pull it out! So he didnt die instantly. Also, it wasnt shown and they said it was disturbing

yeah I seen that, it was his producer or something wern't it? he was saying it was terrible and that to watch it...

I think at one point it will be shown on TV, Steve Irwin always told his crew, if ever I am in danger with a Croc or a shark, carry on filming.

I suppose he always wanted to be famous for doing the most dangerous stuff, I think he'd of wanted it included in his documentary if it happened, as stupid as that may sound.

Yeah, they said it's been on tape ever since the news came out. Makes sense, they were filming a documentary...

And he did pull it out, not just an attempt, but he still died very quick. Actually, they say when he pulled it out, thats what did the most damage, not the going in.

Its been said that the family may put the video on the news.. to show what happend to the great guy.

Pulling it out probably did kill him, but Stingrays have a poisonous mucus on their barbs so leaving it in would have killed him too.

I don't think I would watch it. My stomach isn't fit for watching someone get stabbed for real. I can watch films with stabbing because I know it isn't real.

Tsk. Evreyone knows that when you get stabbed by somthing that you should never pull it out yourself.. I very much dout it will be shown. Alot of people would haveto agree including memeber's of his family for it to be shown.

Errrr..... if you read news/watch it, it ws in his will that if he died whilst filming, let everyone watch it

I agree.

Also, little children would stumble across the channel and see it. I wouldnn't think parents would allow their child to see someone be killed.

Exactly what I was thinking. I know it, so surely someone who deals with sharp dangerous things for a hobby should have known it.

Aw that reminds me when The Sun put that video of that guy that got stabbed to death for no reason by these guys onto their website after the victims parents wanted to show what they were like...

On Topic // If he wanted the world to see him die then why not? Still not sure if I would watch it like!

The barb has posions on them, which probably would have killed him, And didnt he die of cardiac arrest (were the blood doesnt get round the body properly)

I don't know the finer detail's but I would rather use the last bit of energy I had to go to the surfic and talk to the camera or the people I'm with and tell them to tell my family that I loved them and what not.

Yeah, suppose your right, maybe the medics would have been better suited to deal with it, if he could have made it. Still he was a brave guy and a great one

If you went straight to the surface, you would die. Also, it penetrated his heart, no time to move to the surface. Its that he took it out that killed him. He did die of cardiac arrest (heart failure)

You would die from surfacing toooooooo fast. Im a diver in trainning so i sorta know

It was shallow water.. If he had the time and strenght to take the barb from his heart he would of had the time to get to the surface..

Probably not them but other people will record it off TV or whatever and put it on youtube.

Also it's the same for an arrow if it goes into you, you have to leave it in otherwise if you pull it out it'll do a hell of alot more damage, but this was a living creature that was thrashing about so it was donig more harm than if he'd pulled it out no doubt. =[
