View Full Version : Habbo loosing users?

Hey,
I've noticed ever since Callie has "quit" Habbo, and after all the stuff last summer, the number of users at Habbo has reduced quite significantly. I only decided to post this as I have just seen as of now (time of post) there is just..
550 Habbos online
Which is the lowest I have seen habbo in ages! There is usually around 1,500 people at minimum at this time.. and during the day back in the Callie days there was usually 13,000-15,000 users online... now they're lucky to get 8,000 online!
Anyone else noticed this?

Not exactly news, but agreed. Though it may be because users are growing up, with the main target market of around 15/16 year olds, they're deciding to leave most commonly for such reasons as School commitments. I've noticed that users are beginning to find Habbo boring, fair doos.

I agree with both of you - I've also noticed the significant drop in users. Most people will find more appealing things to do with their time, and most users that have been frequent visitors at the Hotel often complain how bored they are (myself included). I guess for the last 10 weeks people have been off school/college, so the numbers have been a bit higher, and now they have decreased with the return to education.
Meh, I don't know.

Also though there have been other hotels opening which may have impacted on the numbers using the UK hotel but I also agree with Barmi that with school starting again it will be reduced for a while.

People have started back at school but there are people leaving, its not like it used to be.
Most i've ever seen online is about 11k since Callie left, I remember the day they got 15k online.
I don't think the numbers will rise much again with the way habbo is going
I don't really think it's dropped significantly at all. Right now, sure there has been a huge drop in users online, but that's because generally people have gone back to school over this past week.
I don't think the majority of users that use Habbo really give two hoots who the 'Hotel Manager' is to be honest, so I don't think many would leave because of that.
11k is still good! Infact better for us, because the Hotel runs slightly better ;)
I think it just depends whats happening in the Hotel and on the website that day.
As we're only Habbo's, we don't notice much of a difference, but i'm sure if you was staff and could see the amount of registrations that took / take place, you would be suprised...
People leaving yes, not everyone can buy HC, that is the reason i have heard from over 50 people...
Also yes, school is open...
By next week, there will be less and less people!
Dont worry, after 3pm it all starts to fill and weekends too!
Ellis.

Although the current decrease of the population may be caused by Callie's departure, several factors and not only Callie's departure play a part in the whole decrease of population thing.
1. Habbo is getting boring with or without Callie
2. Teenagers finding something more productive rather than Habbo.
3. Teenagers growing older and finding jobs, hence less time on Habbo.
4. School; students realise they need to spend more time focused on their studies.
5. Some people just leave because of plain boredom. I know some people who log on to Habbo and spend most of their time on hotel view.
That's all I can think of at the moment but in my opinion, I think what I said has somewhat a role in the decrease of population.

yeah what he said ^
also the majority (sp?) of Habbos always said they hated Callie so i don't see why she leaving would effect it. Also its the summer so people are proberly spending more time outside enjoying the weather before the rain , snow and genaral coldness comes :)

I agree with some of the others, school & college has started so less people are on now & it's getting boring so people are leaving because its just plain boring.
I've left cause of it being so boring, if i go on its to check out whats happening & because im so bored doing other stuff.
But, you never know, after about 3pm & at the weekends the number might get bigger as more people are home then, so they can get on the hotel
thanks to you kind individual now you have revealed my true identity i will have to cry :'(

That was not what I was trying to get at. What I am saying is that since Callie's departure, with her events, games, and the many rumors and stories that made habbo into a sort of online Eastenders.. thats what interested us!
What has Callie mucked up on this time?
What has Callie done thats "corrupt" this time?
What has happened to Habbo this week by the "h4x0rs"?
Who are the latest Callie bummers? Its out of order!!!
VIP badges gallore! Allowing Habbo users to do events..
Now its like a plain old boring site with no new stories all being goody goody.. Lost_witness is hardly interesting at all.
Get what I mean?

I think we can see Lost-Witness's lack of interest through the lack of updates on the homepage.. There's almost a two week gap between the latest update and the one before that :o

As of people returning to school, that's obviously going to have an effect on the amount of users in the short-term effect. However in the long-term, it's completely different.
For those who said that it's getting boring or people are getting older and finding it less appealing are being ignorant and I completely agree with you. I'm assuming most of you are 15/ 16+ and naturally you'd find a game like that boring. You have to take into account that you're not the only generation of kids on Habbo... There's hundreds of 12/ 13 year olds who are just starting out who find it enjoyable.

I posted about lack of homepage updates on my site like 2/3 days ago showing the difference between homepage updates:
http://www.habbos.net/showthread.php?t=22168
Also for the people giving excuses about school: it's been low in numbers since way before school started. The most I've seen online was 9000 and I think the main cause is:
Lack of updates
Lack of interest
Repetition
There are no original comps anymore. Before it was like "Are you ready - for what's next?" now its always the same.
Examples:
AROUND THE WORLD IN 80 ROOMS - 7 WONDERS OF HABBO
SEARCH FOR MEI LING - THE RESISTANCE
Obviously the second ones were always better!

Hmm very interesting, ive never noticed this that much to be honest but now that you mention it...Most users are migrating to games such as Runescape, Xivio, IMVO, Coke Music and many more, mainly because Habbo may not appeal to them and they are just way too old for these things. Sulake ARE opening more hotels and that could be to blame, are they opening too many hotels, and getting a bit ahead of themselves on their success of Habbohotel? It looks that way.
School has always been important when youre playing Habbo, the school year has just started and myself, i am going into Year 11 therefore GCSE's would be very soon. It looks like the majority of the users are also going onto their GCSE's and will not be on that much as they want to get the best grades and study as hard as they can. Parents can also be a reason that people dont come on, parents find that computers are harmful to their children after long exposures everyday, and therefore they get banned off their computers.
Sulake may need to make a few more ideas soon or the Habbohotel idea may just die of pure boredom? Im sure that V10/11 will change this but for now, numbers are being shortened and Sulake will soon be in trouble if this problem spreads to other countries, they had a good profitable year last year but will it be the high figures that they want to see when they look at the UK cashflow? Lets wait and see.

I agree and Disagree. Back then, everyone was into Runescape, then Habbo now just MSN or playing out. Anyhow, the international Hotels are starting to get more popular. Maybe UK users going onto other Hotels? It's a possibility.

College has opened my eyes big time especially with huge amoutn of new friends i've made there. The work load is very heavy, dont have time for Habbo anymore. Plus partying obviously comes before. Who'd pass up the oppurtuanity to get hammered hey!

I know lots of people who've quit in the past few weeks, for things including education. Other hotels. Bored of it. and yes, the odd person who has the OMG IM LEAVING HABBO CAUSE IT RUINS YOUR LIFE AND OMG!!! In otherwords meaning they have lost all their furniture. They're back the next day nearly all the time though.
I for one have not left, but i've certainly cut down. I'm now only going on for the around the world, so about every 5 days. when new ones are realeased etc. I'll then probably not go on it at all. Only for frequent visits, My lifestyle has suddenly got hetic. So that's 1 Less person on habbo.
As of people returning to school, that's obviously going to have an effect on the amount of users in the short-term effect. However in the long-term, it's completely different.

I'm 13 i started when i was 10 lol and it sucks now, it was good then because there was lots of bugs and stuff. They should make a addon like habbo city or somthing, or where your habbos have to eat, sleep drink and stuff like Sims. That would be appealing to people.

Habbo does ruin kids lifes.
It is a false sense of security and acceptance in life, it makes kids think they are popular, and liked stuck infront of a PC with no social life. It can ruin a kids life, imagine it, being a Habbo at age 13 till 17 being obsessed on habbo and putting it first as you feel like your life is based on it as your accepted in this community, when you go out in the real world, you have no idea what to do.
Sulake exploit the fact that kids are unsecure and are often socially inept at this age.. which is great for a business, but crap for kids.

What Just-one said was a bit stereotypical :P I mean, ive learnt alot more on Habbo than i have in school about some things e.g. countries, religional beliefs, how to deal with certain things and much more.
Im not saying Habbo is a great thing and wont ruin anyones life but if you play it and not live it, i guess youre ok. Boy, i can imagine the Sulake staff of the future *giggles*

News..
news (nūz, nyūz) http://content.answers.com/main/content/img/pron.gif
pl.n. (used with a sing. verb)
Information about recent events or happenings, especially as reported by newspapers, periodicals, radio, or television.
A presentation of such information, as in a newspaper or on a newscast.
New information of any kind: The requirement was news to him.
Newsworthy material: “a public figure on a scale unimaginable in America; whatever he did was news” (James Atlas).I think a massive decrease in the number of users on Habbo Hotel is worthy for news? :P
Anyway, 550 is the lowest I have seen ever at that time, you can not comment on it if your not even online during those times, please correct me if you are online during those times though. ;) As I said, its usually around 3,000 during those hours in the past (School or not!)

True, but I think parents are that bit pushier when it's the beginning of a new year and stuff, and to confirm, I am at school with the majority of the Habbo population from Europe.
The last time I was off in a morning... about... I'd say about that time, the amount of Habbos was 1,000 in about January this year.
I don't believe there were 3,000 in school time, although I would agree with that in the summer holidays.
At about 5:30pm today, they got 8,000 no problem and reaching the 9,000 mark.

It's that the UK Habbo really don't care about Habbos
I like how USA, CA & more are always giving out stuff but it's sad that the UK Habbo is always banning people
Have you noticed how they reply to your emails the best uk staff is someone named 0rca or something I dunno she is so respectful and professional
I like Becs and Ione because they're professional too
Well that's it :)

A bit too professional for my liking, shes like a school teacher. :P Id say Disarno is on his way to a Lost_witness style story, he seems alot like him.
Heres a representation of Sulakes figures in Habbos (*).

hABBO is rubbish now...
It's not as fun as it used to be when you didn't know anyone and you had no emotional attachments and you could just have fun without constant wars going on.
tbh, atleast callie did events at nights and weekends

I must agree, since Callie left there has been a huge loss of Habbo users.
I know alot of people didn't like Callie but she was a very good hotel manager for the UK hotel.
(ALSO) Many of you may remember when Callie was HM we reached the 15,000 mark for Habbo Users now you dont even see over 9,000 now.
But you stated above, that at the time you posted the thread that over 1,500 users would be online I think thats because alot of us going back to school as half term finished.
