I'm not sure how to put videos on it, cause I just have the regular one, but when I put music on mine I just drag over cds from my music folder, thats the easiest way I know how to do it.

Yeah if you have limewire, just click them and drag it with itunes open, and then restart your computer with the ipod in the slot on the computer, then the songs and videos should be transferred.

Click Start, then open My Documents.
Go into wherever you download you're music. If you use Limewire, open it and click Tools and then Options.
See the address in the URL box? Highlisht and copy it.)
Now go back to your documents folders. Delete what's in the URL bar and paste the address you copied from Limewire. A list should be seen with all your downloaded music.
Now open iTunes. Make the window with all your song in it smaller, so you can see a bit of the iTunes window. Now drag your music into the iTunes window.
Connect your iPod into a USB port and wait for the (name)'s iPod section to appear on iTunes. Right click the song in iTunes and click 'Show In Playlist', then (name)'s iPod.
(sorry it's a bit all over the place ^^ :D)

Make sure you convert the video into .mp4
you can download .mp4 videos from google video.
If you have a converter, even better!

you can make a new playlist by pressing ctrl and n, drag and drop the song's onto the playlist title on the left, when the ipods connected it should start updating, or click the ipod icon at the bottom right.
make sure ur ipod isnt doing something stupid. If it is do reset by pressing menu and middle button (i think) also u won't loose your songs

Have you installed the Ipod software CD before connecting? You have to do that first otherwise the computer wont recognises your Ipod...
Or it could be that you set your Ipod Preference as Manually add songs...
Insert your ipod and go to edit and go to preferences and go to ipod...
If its connected and working it should be a couple of boxes and list... click automatically update songs I think, from memory this is :p

Yeh....
If it doesnt work still, If you got it from a shop not from Apple online shop, I think you can ask for another one, just say its faulty...
If you brought from online shop, they will send you a box and they will pick it up for free and check it... but if they find out no problems, they just send it back to you... I reckon your ipods okay though...
Finally if you just want to keep your ipod, try downloading Realplayer...
And add all your Itunes songs onto there... You can put music onto your ipod with Realplayer... but I use itunes... realplayer is only last resort

theres nothing wrong with it
just install it on your computer, unless you've done so already, then a hardware blocker may be on your computer.

The iPod can only be connected to one computer at a time... so maybe thats the problem... When you put it on your computer does it says its connected to somewhere else and to connect to yours it has to wripe out everything on the iPod so it can upload your library?

So he'll need to get rid of the software on his laptop for it to work on mine?

Not really.
You could go to prefrences and change it from auto update to manual update and put songs on your ipod by draging playlists or songs onto it.
This is what I do and can get songs from all of my friends comptuers when I am at their house.
But her problem is that iTunes wont read the iPod I think.
If the ipod shows up on the computer maybe it is set up to be an external storage drive and she needs to change it.

Hey. Dont know if this has already been said as i havn't read each post. but the way i do it is with LimeWire ;o
Well. Firstly. Go to if you have Limwire go there. Download the song you have and it should now be in your libary right? So now you can see near the bottem of libary it says 'Explore'. Click that and you should get a new window open with all you music files there. Find the files you want. If you just want one right click it and press copy. Or if you want more than one. Press CTRL and press all the files you want then press 'Copy'. Now go to Itunes.
Ok so were in Itunes if you wish make a folder for that music for that band or just put in it the libaary. Now just simply, Click 'Edit' At the top of itunes and press 'Paste'. Now to get it on your Ipod. Put your ipod in the USB port. And in Itunes Press 'File' Then go down to 'Update Ipod'. And your done.
Hope this helps if you havn't already done it.
Good Luck on putting it on!
Thanks

Haha thanks for your help but I removed limewire a few weeks ago because of that thing everyone was saying about people being caught and I was paranoid, I might re-download it..
