Habbos to get their own profile?

I was in a room and ione randomly walked in said she was doing a survey on photos. She asked if we could put any photo on Habbo, what would it be?

Then she said "page" leading to me thinking that Habbo Profiles were in the talks.

So will we be getting our own profiles where we can type stuff about ourselves and upload pictures? We will have to wait and see! :D

Very nice find! +Rep for sure! Nice to see ione out and about, but it does concern me slightly. If standards of moderation actually on the hotel are dwindling, where are they going to get the extra hands to help with this?

Until she said 'page', I was under the impression she was talking about making your own posters, that sort of thing. If we are to get Habbo profiles with pictures and whatever else, doesn't that completely undermine the whole idea behind Habbo Safety? I.e. not giving out personal details, name, age, date of birth, MSN, or pictures of yourself.

On the other hand, they could be making the profiles entirely Habbo related, name would be username, location would be habbo room, and pictures would only be of Habbo material and checked before being uploaded. FaceParty has a similar routine where photos are checked. Who knows?

Means real pictures compared to their Habbo avatar. Back in 2002 they had a real vs Habbo website on "thenumbernine.net" and staff/hobbas would post their pictures as well.

if this does happen people would probably post *Removed* or rude pictures, i dont see how they can block certain photos without someone actually seeing them, which means more moderators.... think about it, 20 000 or more photos they will have to continuously look at?

I think Habbo would approve changes to a users 'page' and moderate photos they are publishing. At the end of the day, Habbo still have a diverse range of users they aren't going to allow people to upload stuff at their own free will... and if they did, that'd be silly.

Faceparty.com manages to approve and disapprove images quick enough. They have thousands of uploads and profiles I'd asssume.

yes, but think about how many mods they would need to check the photos, and if they release it on all the hotels, thats alot of mods and alot more money sulake have to pay them

I dont know if other people would upload there pics to a profile , but I wouldnt? Some people could get bullied real life how they look and they goto habbo to get treated nicely , dont you think?

I really can't see habbo allowing users to post pics of themselves, it goes against everything they have done in the past like telling habbos not to webcam with each other and closing down real vs habbo sites.

You used to have profiles on habbo in the early days. On your console you could have a simple profile but soon got removed because of the safety and all that. So I doupt they would bring it back?

It might just automatically put your profile photo as an image of your Habbo or it might have a gallery of pictures to choose from.

Nope, she went up in the ranks. ^_^ She became delocalised Sulake Staff, rather than staff for one of the individual Hotels.

A quick search on the tinternet is wonderful nowadays. :rolleyes: I think the job position stated under "current" is likely to be the correct one, seeing as the one quoted from the Sulake website also uses the term "Head Hobba", which is outdated. (Note: the URL says Feb 2004.)

Anyway, public profile can't be such a bad thing, if Habbo are actually considering it. However, I do get the feeling we will have to dig into our pockets somehow here. ^_^
