I was thinking about how Hacking could be slowed down and I came up with this Idea.

When you make an Account On Habbo, Habbo askes for 2/3 IP Addreses including your own.

That means if a Hacker has your password He/She can't log into your Habbo Unless they log in from your choosen Ip Address acess points.

Also if you wanted to change the IP Address which you regitered with you must send Sulake an Email from the same Email which your account has and you Apply for a IP acess change + You must say your secret Question in the Email like Favourite Teacher.

If its impossible doesn't matter - Was only an Idea :)

But Habbo also gets a lot of "newbie" registrations if you know what I mean.. and most don't know what an IP address is.

Some people have static IP Addresses, their IP Address will reset everytime they connect to the internet.

It was a good idea but too confusing for me :s I understood it kinda but IP adresses and stuff are too complicated for me to follow.:P

Good for people who would understand it. Also if sending them an email with new IP was all done manually, it would take ages for the staff to get them all done and would take a day or even a week till you can get on.

there´s pro´s & cons.

i´d make it chooseable to the habbo´s owner, as some people would rather it like that than complusary.

and i´d give the user no limit to IP´s they can pick.

Wikked idea but as someone said about it takeing to long for staff to read the emails and than modify your settings , instead you could be able to insert a new acsses ip in your habbo id , but only do this from and ip allredy registerd from when you joined.

Or,,
Habbo Loggs ur IP rom the first Entry,
2nd,
3rd, then any other ones will ask for e-mail then the e-mail will be sent to the e-mail adress and if matching the Habbo Username Profile it will Be confirmed by a link.!

Yep! good idea this should be put into service by Habbo.
Even if people dont understand at first they will just have to learn like everything else in the world.

Well this is where the email service would come up again, you would jus have to provide details sutch as your old ip and habbo name and stuff, and let them modifiy your settings.

You'll get a code in a e-mail once a month (same) (can be changed)
And u type that in andit resets the IP log.. So u can just Do all 3 again..

On the chance that they don't know their ip address, couldnt they just put a box next to it using code from a site like www.whatismyip.com, or have it automatically do it?

Static is the name I know for it. There's plenty.

Static means it stays the same
Dynamic means it changes on a login or dayly-monthly basis.

Secret question would be a good idea. Like first pet, mothers maiden name etc. But that would really be used for password recovery or changing the password?

Any user that use's a laptop the internet ip adress resets at 12:01 in the morning so that wouldn't be possible unless they wanna reduce the ammount of funds coming in from the people quiting due to the inconveinance of emailing them every day saying there new ip.

IP addresses change when you reboot oyur computer from the beginning (I think) and someone said that IP addresses change when you disconnect and connect some kind of wire thing that is connected to your itnernet thing. *Cough*yeh*cough*. =/

IP addresses change all the time, it's rare you're given a static IP address. Anyway, it's inconvenient, and what person stupid enough to get "hacked" would know what their IP address is? :P

Remix

Static means still doesn't it?

Therefore, the IP address being stable.

Some broadband users will know that their IP address constantly changes.

Therefore, this idea would not work.

In the ideal world, it's a good idea.
