Heat is on ... Darlene sets herself alight
PRISON giant Darlene turns herself into a towering inferno in the final episode of Bad Girls.
"It's very dramatic and looks amazing," says Antonia Okonma, who plays quick-tempered Darlene.
The fiery end is triggered by the arrival of TV's interior design expert Catherine Earlham (guest-star Jan Francis) who is jailed for stealing from her employees' pension fund.
Catherine befriends Darlene and offers to pay for her to go to college once she's out.
But she explains that she can't get released as her husband Frank is blaming her for the fraud.
When Frank visits Catherine, Darlene attacks him and strangles him to death.
Darlene sees him as the one thing that's stopping her getting to college.
Afterwards, distraught Darlene grabs inmate Janine. She pours flammable white spirit over them and holds a lighter.
"Darlene says that she can't face life in prison any more and sets fire to herself," says Antonia
