Habbo Fansites: Out with the old, in with the new?

You could say this is news if you want to, or just a rumour...But, its truth nonetheless. Today i noticed that v-habbo, Bobbanet, Habbovalley AND Hab-world are more or less...dead really.

- Ever since the Hab-world buyout its been under maintenance everytime i check it.

- Habbovalley are selling up to the highest bidder and will probably be going the same route as Hab-world did.

- V-Habbo's domain is being bought by a mysterious man called "Chris" which means that maybe V-Habbo is down and out?

- Bobbanet's domain has directed itself to one of those rubbish advertisement sites that we all hate, does that mean Bobbanet's dead? Im not sure for certain but it could well.

Now to my point, with the increasing abandoning/selling out of Habbo UK Fansites, is this the time for the new Fansites to be added, and the old to be removed with strict rules? Not many sites do abide by the Habbo Fansite way e.g. Keep active for a week or so yadayadayada or youll be removed. If this was the case, i think a few would be gone by now. :P Does this mean the end of the old fashioned fansites that we used to like? And the beginning of more newer sites such as Clubhabbo and [Your site here]? Itd seem so...

It may sound like a rant, and if it is that to a moderator i wouldnt mind the thread being moved to a more suitable area within the forum but i think this has to be posted in UK news and rumours for a reason, the news is Fansites are growing old and losing their users... And there has to be new fansites soon or else, the official fansite idea could become...Dare i say it, a failure?

I agree - most of the official fansites are dead and boring. No new content, no interesting content, just a user-system that everyone wants to put on their site, and sod all else. *Sigh* I do think it's time that Habbo buckled up on the official fansites rules, and got rid of those that don't comply. It's time for some new, fresh, bustling sites for a change.

I totally agree with this topic 100%, I am agreeing with it not because I want remix official as it never will be due to Sulake being so pathetically immature, but because so many on their are dead.

I am sure quite a few people would agree with HabboRemix being official, lets see if sulake listen to its users or to Becs. She deserves a good slap on the bottom and told to get on her bed! :P

Bobbanet was my least favourite. I love the design and alts you can move around the room in, but apart from that, there is nothing whatsoever.

Yourhabbo is still sort of alive :P What we are trying to do at the minute as get the Events Team more active and firing the inactive onces.

I dont think Hab-World, V-Habbo or Thehabbos should be official as they all sold their sites to other people. I am sure one of the other sites in the past got removed from official list as the owner sold it to someone else.

All I know is HabboRemix shouldn't be official (DON'T blast me, just my oppinion). I agree with whoever said that out with the fansites that have sold to new owners or are being sold. And if you're on maintenance every day, it doesn't really count as a fansite...

And I don't think this is a place for people to advertise their fansites, by the way!

Wasn't there a rule that if your site is down for more than 2 weeks or not editted within 2 weeks, it is removed? And I am sure if you sell an Official Fansite to someone else and change ownership, it is taken off the Official List...

Now explain to me why we should keep smiling and keep zipped about how they are treating us?

We have not broken any rules and the only reasons we are being removed is due to reports I made about Sulake staff and someone not appreciating it. I had a right to report them as they sent me abusive emails which I don't appreciate and now look whats happening.

I hope you have a reason to share with us why a fansite which has had months of work go into it, is constantly updated, most people love it.. compared to so many other official fansites currently in the list which are never updated or have simply been sold to earn money. Habbo is meant to be fun, not political.

Not being cruel or down hearted, but you are starting to whine and pretty much are asking for a sympathy vote on something you really don't need "/ Sure you never broke any rules, which I can agree, is incredibly strange that they never even emailed you or gave a valid explaination.

But then again, you've not been closed down, you are still pretty popular and you're site is interesting and good. So why keep moaning about it? You don't need Official Status... It is just a badge given to sites who make giveaways during Fansite Voting so they can become official or to people who win loads of competitions and happen to have a site so Habbo Hotel will blindly make it official.

Live and let live, a popular saying. Just get on with your life. Ignore the money making fat cats known as Sulake. They don't need you, and you don't need them. And moaning about it openly won't get you anywhere. It is probably one reason they have not emailed back with an excuse, because they are thinking they're going to let a whining brat have their way. Although I wouldn't call you a whining brat because you have a valid reason to moan about it, they shunted you off the Official List and were rude. But that is probably their strange, untrue opinion on you.

I agree with most of that, but the thing is, I am not after anything. I am not after sympathy, I am just expressing my views as you do on a discussion board. We don't expect to be officials I have said in a previous post in this thread.. The rest of your post yes I agree, and yeah I am gonna move on from it.. its just I felt the need that seeing as sulake are playing games with me, it'd be nice to give them a bit of bad publicity.

One thing though, I didn't write that post previously meaning to be arragont, I was far from it. This topic is about old sites which have been sold or are never updated, I commented in my last thread that HabboRemix shouldn't be seen worse than fansites which have zero effort put into them. I might not have made this clear so it may have been a misunderstanding.

After about a month of trying to get in contact with Sulake, I would just nod and put it nearly behind me. Obviously some questions. But Sulake never took away that hard work did they? No. So why act as if they did?

lol. Let this be the last post about HabboRemix loosing officialness on HabboxForum.

I wasn't contacted for 2 months after sending Sulake loads of emails, only this week have I gone public with it, and what better but to go public on forums which alot of Habbo's go on and is the place for discussions. Indeed its our sites issues, but it also is Sulakes/Habbo's which is what this forum is about. Can I also express this is only habbo Canada. Habbo USA have agreed there has been a misunderstanding (after I phoned them), so we are awaiting replies.. if I get them :P

As agreed, I've done my bit and I am pleased and happy to move on. Everyone now knows whats going on, and I didn't want to sound like I was whining or moaning, far from it. I just wanted to express whats been going on, and any person who has been treated so badly by Sulake would do exactly what I have done. :)

Anyway this is the last post (hopefully) about this, sooo, back on topic. ;)

If an official fansite has changed owners, it is supposed to be removed from the official fansite list.

Heres an email all us official fansite owners recieved on 27th April 2006:

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

Any Official Fansite that changes owners, will no longer be eligible for Official status. Habbo does not support its users selling Furni, Accounts or any other Habbo related items for real money. Due to the exchange of personal information and risk of scamming.

In the past we have been more lenient on this rule and it has caused problems. We will therefore NOT be allowing anymore site ownership changes. Sorry.

HabboMeadow's pretty simple... No content management besides cutenews, most pages are just created by hand and then uploaded. Nothing fancy like MySQL xD
