Whenever I get in from work I feel knackered and HAVE to sleep. It takes me on average half an hour every morning to wake up even though I've had a nap the night before. I don't understand why I'm so tired but it's annoying as hell because last night I dropped off when I really wanted to watch hollyoaks. :@ I don't eat meat so maybe thats got something to do with it? :s I just never have any energy and its proper annoying.

Maybe because you dont eat enough meat, which are rich in iron, your blood haemoglobin is not that good so they not as efficient to uptake oxygen hence your tierd?

Do more exercise eg swimming helps...
Eat spinich?

If you don't eat meat you may be anemic as tierdness is a side effect of it, Eat things rich in iron, like quorn, nuts ect ect.

I've had them problems for a few month although they've got better recently.

When you goto sleep at night do you sleep through till morning or wake up at night? How long does it take you to get to sleep? And how long have you had the problems?

I wouldn't recommend napping through the day, especially not when you get in from work cos it's too close to bedtime. It's easier said than done (I fell asleep today watching tele when I didn't wanna :P) but just if you feel yourself going to sleep go get a drink or something.

It could be 'cos you don't eat meat or more likely because you have insomnia, maybe caused through stress at work, your sleeping habits, or just generally worrying about things.

Get into a routine, If you have a few early nights a nice bath then sleep, maybe a warm drink before, so you get very relaxed and have a long sleep.
You're reccomened to have 9 hours sleep.
Also, I think you may not have enough energy, which makes you tired.
If you do alot of exercise, you are burning of your calories which is energy, so if you do alot of exercise you need more to eat. If you dont you will find you are tired if this is the case.

I can't sleep at night if I've had a nap during the day and this is understandable really it takes me a good hour to go off. I had a blood test about a year ago to see if I was something or other (can't spell the word) but it came back fine. I've had this problem about a year now. Thanks for all your help and advice + rep to you all.

It could well be something like M.E....

My step-mother has it and it makes her tired all the time.
She was getting better but then she had a baby and it made it worse...

Sounds familiar to me except i eat plenty of meat.
Yeh i am constantly tired, it takes me a while to drop off.
I was tested for diabetes, blood test, but it came back fine. So im really baffled, but its horrible.

Well meat does provide you with alot of energy so that could be one problem,
I think you should go for a blood test just to be sure.

Not sure what you had blood tests for, but I was like that.. turned out to be diabetes. but afterwards I was still sleeping like.. 13 hours a day. Had some more blood tests and was diagnosed with "underactive thyroid"

ME is a possability, but some doctors don't even believe it exists..

Also I think Anemia (which is a lack of red blood cells) would make you extremly tired, but there's other symptoms like headaches, dizziness, pale complexion, and difficulty sleeping.

Just an idea.

What time do you have to wake up? You might be diabetic, tiredness is a common side effect... Although thinking that might be pretty drastic :P

And Hollyoaks was pretty full on Monday night. Felt well sorry for Justin :(

i think the main thing is your routine, if you can't sleep properly when you nap in the day you should really try and cut the nap out and just go to bed a bit earlier.

How many hours sleep do you get a night?

It's showing alot of the signs of chronic fatigue syndrome which in other terms is also called m.e, i really advise you to see your doctor as i have chronic fatigue syndrome and you're showing alot of the signs i had when i was starting to get it.

I wouldn't worry about taking a while to get up... Whenever I wake up and I'm half asleep I'll lay there and think "5 more minutes" and before I know it half an hour has gone.

But yeah, tiredness can be a sign of illness. A close friend of mine (and her little brother also) is diabetic, and I know before she was diagnosed she drank water and slept a hell of a lot.
