We have alot of teachers like that.
For instance, the teachers elected Head Boy/Girl and Deputy Heads, and alot of them weren't the "perfect role models" they were supposed to be, it was more like a fashion contest.
Have rep to ease the pain.

Urm, if your school is split into classes of ability, like top to bottom, why don't you just say you'r struggling and ask to get moved down a class? I did that in English and I find it much easier now, and I'm getting better grades than in my old class.

Complain.
My friend complained about our RE teacher not listening to people.
He didn't even know my friends name after 2 years of teaching her!
When she complained to our year head things soon changed.

Same here. ;/
our english teacher basically gives tarts the answers.
a tart put her hand up "sirr.. I dont get it.."
he gives her 4 answers..
I put up my hand "Sir, what do I do on this one?"
he says "You expect me to tell you the answer?"

I really think you should complain, so what if he knows your sister? Do you want to sort this out or not? This really is your only option, unless you ask your sister for help:s. Seeing as she is a math's teacher aswell? I know she's not there while you have the lesson but you can go to her and say "look i really don't get this" or something like that. She's a teacher so that will just be part of her job, even if you are her brother.

I disagree with the comment about moving classes. Your in that class for a reason, and it's not fair to yourself to just move down a level because of one teacher.
You should go to the head of the department and explain to him how you feel your not learning anything in that class, and it's not down to your fault. Explain he seems to be prioritising other people over you, and whether or not they may need it more, you do too, and he can't just neglect you for others.
See how things go then, and if stuff doesn't change, take it further and go to the head of your year.
Get it sorted anyway. Maths is one of the hardest highers, and the work rate and pace is extremely fast, so you can't afford to be missing out etc.
