Do you remember? (Poem)

This is my first attempt at any poem that "broke" the standard rhyme pattern. Its of a personal experience, so alot of emotion has gone into it. I think thats apparent.

Do you remember the sun that day
Shining down on our populated world
Do you remember the smiles we shared
As if time had frozen, a perfect still portrait

Do you remember the sounds of the children
Running carelessly through the color-filled leaves
Do you remember the tall flawless trees
Struck with the magic of autumn, allowing us to be this way

I remember the beautiful look on your face
As with not a care in the world we laughed together
I remember the clouds and the stars
On the soft grassy terrain we laid

I remember the one special star
Shining brightly it blessed me with a wish
I remember the reaction i gave
As i smiled and turned that star away

Do you remember the time we spent
Admiring life as if an eternity had passed
I remember the way i enjoyed that eternity
Cuddling up to your soft body

Do you remember the sounds of the willows
As we slowly fell asleep in each others embrace
I remember the dreams that filled my mind that night
Your the real reason i turned that star away
