I just thought of this I don't know why, if its been said before answer anyways; If your on a train and its moving and you jumped in the air would you move futher down the train, just even a little bit, 'casue if you was on a moving platform and jumped i gues you would mover futher down casue it would move under your feet :s idk i do talk some rubbish lol

If you jump, your in the air, so the object below you is going to keep moving, but you won't because your in the air, so if you jump when your on a moving object, your going to stay where you are.

i dont understand half of it but the bit i did understand if you did jump out you would go further but it would hurt im sure 8-)

Exactly what The-Quiet-One said, you only move if your jumping backwards, there's no force inside the train to stop you from jumping on the spot :]

It's because the air in the train is moving at the same speed the train is moving at, thus it would be like jumping on the spot.

No, because when you're standing youre going the same speed as the train, so when you jump, your going along with it.

But turning is different. If you jump while youre taking a turn, youll move to the side because you arent in the original position in your center of gravity.

Yeah, it's kinda been explained, you jump at the speed of the train. It's like if you jump in a lift, it won't be any different.

That happens to me too when I stand on buses. When the bus speeds up you start to move backwards a little but then it stops you start to move forward, weird.

It's because of the force of the bus moving that makes you step backwards and move forwards. :P
