Since there isn't another guide to assist with german beginners, I thought I'd make one.
Welcome = Willkommen
Hello = Hallo
Good Day - Guten Tag
Good Evening = Guten Abend
Good Night = Guten Nacht
Goodbye = Auf Wiedersehen
I am called = Ich heisse .....
My name is = Mein name ist...
I am ... years old = Ich bin ... Jahr alt.
Wie Geht's? = How are you?
Sehr Gut = Very good
Gut = Good
Nicht zu gut - Not so good
Schlecht = Terrible
Happy Birthday = Glücklich Geburtstag
Thank you = Danke
I am sorry = Ich bin traurig
Excuse Me Please= Entschuldigen Sie Bitter
Have a good journey = Hatte eine gute Reise

You should add some numbers too
1 - Ein
2 - Zwei
3 - Drei
4 - Vier
5 - Funf
6 - Sechs
7 - Sieben
8 - Acht
9 - Neun
10 - Sehn
11 - Elf
12 - Zwolf
13 - Dreisehn
14 - Viersehn
15 - Funfsehn
16 - Sechsehn
17 - Siebsehn
18 - Achtsehn
19 - Neunsehn
20 - Zwanzig
Spellings are probably wrong on some btw :p

**the u on this word has an oumloute (sp?) on (the two dots)
Mein schwester ist ein hund und ein grosse und llangweiling hund.
Es war ein prima fussball.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/languages/german/cool/ that helps alot too! tells you how to pronounce as well :) (it is a flash file where they say it and you repeat after it.)

You should have explained that some words are varied depending on what gender.
Like, klein and kleine etc.
If not it's incorrect
