okay heres the question:

Scientists have been able to make new elements in nuclear reactors. One of these new elements is fermium. An atom of fermium is represented by the symbol below.

How many neutrons does this atom contain?

any ideas?

100 is the proton number, and 257 is the nucleon number (the total number of protons and neutrons)

Now you know that, you should be able to work it out
