Okay, last week my friend told everyone she was going to be off school the next day, but decided not to tell me. The next day she was ofcourse not there. The day after she told everyone why she wasn't at school. She took an over dose. Tried to kill herself. She has been depressed for weeks now and she is losing all her friends. I don't know what to do to help her. HELP!?!

Support her have you ever asked what makes her depressed if not ask her and try work on it with her just make sure she knows your there for her.

And dont let anyone else bully you or your friend for it, your friendship is probably something that they havent got.

Yeah, she probably had an appointment rather than try to O.D. I doubt you'd be in school the very next day after you attempted suicide.

One of my friends tried to OD before, sometimes it takes something as serious as that to realise what you're doing to yourself. Yes he had/has genuine problems, but now he's much better and realises what he almost threw away.

taking an overdose is usually a cry for help, you really shouldnt put too much pressure on yourself, just be there for her but act as normal as possible. Im guessing her family know shes depressed if she attends councelling, its up to them to help her.

Its hard but try not to let her depression put pressure on you, only your friend can make herself better.

If someone is depressed and tried to kill themselves, do you really think they would want to handle all the comments people will give them?

If I tried to kill myself, last thing I would do was tell everyone.

you actually, need expierence in dealing with advice, how would youwas her best mate and you just beg us for advice, and we just say Attention Seeker?

I bet if your parents ended there life (proverly did by your reply and i quite feel sorry for them if they did considering they had to bring you up) i bet you would not of said that?

I'm sorry if this sounds accusive but are you sure she took an overdose? In one day she took the overdose went to hospital and they just let her back out again? Seems a tad silly of the hospital if thats true.

Agreed. You wouldnt tell everyone you werent going to school then spread you O.D. Maybe she just wants someone to reach out and talk to. I'd find out why she's like this so atleast you can be informed before you try to help.
