Hey I need help with my shoutcast server!

I bought a server from Vixt a 250 listener for 1 HC streaming at 128kbps, although the server keeps disconnecting! Would playing music at the wrong bitrate be causing this?

Hmm, this shouldn't really happen if your streaming at a bitrate under 128 kbps ...

Make sure its the write bitrate (check with vixt) if not, talk to vixt and try getting some support with it :)

Is it using cast control?

If so, loads of people get that problem thats why you shouldnt buy from here. If he uses cron jobs it will keep it up 24/7.

Its not cast control problem its the person that is in charge of setting cast control. There is a script many companies us that scans the ports looking for people who are breaking the bandwidth. That simply means they are paying for only 24 KBPS but they are streaming at 64 KBPS. This is stealing as you are only paying for that 24 KBPS. So this script will turn off the port and if you violate this more than so many times it will suspend you. Unfortunatly this is good for the company bad for the user. I hope this helped let me know if this was not the issue. But I believe this could be the reason it is cutting off.

Vixt = fails at shoutcast.
He/she over-sells and thats why you crash he probably doesnt have enough bandwidth for a 48kbps 5 listener :D

Buy from someone more reliable and cheap *cough me cough*
